How to host a cocktail party for adults? It doesn’t have to be complicated to invite friends and coworkers to your home for a holiday soiree. But we all lead busy lives so let’s keep it simple. Today, I'm sharing tips for a merry & bright cocktail party
From getting prepared to what to wear, I've got you covered
I've shared tons of links inline for recipes to cocktails, appetizers and holiday outfits
I've also put together a him & her's holiday outfits at the end of the post, both shoppable via widgets
First things first. Your home is probably already decorated, so no real need to do so. Just a few minor things to make sure you're prepared for guests.
Have a fully stocked bathroom
Have a place for guest's coats
Holiday parties are all about setting the mood. From decorations to holiday scents like candles and cider, getting and keeping guests in the spirit is a must.
Fill the air with holiday scents like Nest’s Holiday Classic Candle
Create a festive party space with green & red cocktail napkins, candy canes, paper whites and Amaryllis
Create a holiday playlist. (Thanks to my oldest for putting this one together.)
Food and drink don't have to be a production. Go easy on yourself with appetizers from, say, Trader Joe's or your favorite Christmas cookies.
Serve a large batch cocktail like this apple cider one or punch, but don't forget non-alcoholic drinks like soda
Serve easy appetizers like a whole baked Brie or feta and scatter no-cook cocktail nibbles throughout the room: nuts, popcorn and olives

I must make a comment about the his and hers outfits. I was sur prized that I chose the exact outfit for myself that you chose. The only thing is that I chose the mens for myself when my ladies group comes over tomorrow. I had to laugh.
Too cute! But we both know plaid shirts are always a good idea!
