Happy Tuesday, ladies! Summer is officially here. I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. I was lucky enough to have the whole gang together Saturday and Sunday. We went and saw Top Gun: Maverick---highly recommended. Did Tom Cruise single-handedly save the Summer blockbuster genre? Maybe, just maybe.
This weekend, I ran my Summer Essentials Every Woman Should Own. I'm continuing on with that theme today, but altering it slightly: I went back and picked my budget Summer essentials. In addition to today's OOTD, I've got my 9 budget essentials from Walmart, Target, J.Crew Factory, and more.
Today's featured outfit is from Scoop at Walmart

The Scoop line available online at Walmart is run by American fashion designer Brandon Maxwell. His luxury line is carried in Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, and online. In 2021 Brandon was named Creative Director for the elevated but affordable lines Free Assembly and Scoop. Brandon has a firm belief that style is attainable at all price points and I firmly agree!

How cute is this crescent crossbody bag? I went matchy-matchy today and paired my bag with my blouse. But the bag comes in two different colors if you're looking for something with more color.

Cute outfit. Love black and white together.
Glad all your children were home for the weekend holiday and I am sure you all had a good time. I am also wanting to see the new
Top Gun movie. Glad it is well worth seeing.
Have a great week.
Thanks, Sherry! You will love Top Gun!! One of the best movies I’ve seen in a long, long time.
Beth, I love this polka dot blouse! Did you find it to be true to size? Do you mind telling me what size you are wearing? I’m short waisted and worry about being overwhelmed with the volume.
I’m a big fan of Brandon Maxwell!
Love, love, love Brandon Maxwell! Honestly, I could have sized down to a medium with the blouse but the medium is totally fine. I would purchase two sizes and see which one you like best.
Good post, Beth. I’m always happy to see cute, affordable clothing options. I love the polka dot top on you. It’s very flattering.
Also think your hair is looking really pretty now. I loved it shorter but the current cut is also cute and at the same time, elegant.
Thanks, Bonnie! Polka dots are such a happy print perfect for summer.
I’m amazed at the clothes I purchase at Walmart! Now that I’m retired & no longer have to ‘dress to impress’, Walmart allows me to experiment with trendy pieces without busting my budget. Great blouse!
So many choices these days!
I never would have shopped at Walmart without your blog. I now know you can get some nice clothes in a variety of attractive color ways there. Previous post you showed some wonderfully made, with good fabric, great fit jeans., which I bought. This blog showed tasteful, appropriate clothes and I have placed an order on several things. Who knew Walmart had such a wide range of clothes for different body types!
I’m so happy to hear you are shopping at Walmart these days. This retailer has truly upped their fashion game!
Love this outfit!
polka dots are such a happy print!
Hi Beth. I am veryhappy to have found your blog, especially as I too am 63 5’8″, so your outfits easy to imagine wearing. I have been a follower of yours and Kellyfor quite a few years now. I look forward to the daily posts from each of you. You have helped me to curate my wardrobe and be more intentional in my clothing and accessory purchases which has helped me transition fromfull-time employment to retired life and continue to feel good about my daily outfit choices. I regularly refer to your seasonal essential wardrobe suggestions when transitioning from one season to the next. I find them particularly helpful when shopping end-of season sales at my favourite retailers. Congratulations on the success of your blog.
I’m so happy you are finding inspiration. Thanks so much for being here!
I really like the way you are wearing your hair. It is very becoming to you.
thank you! it’s a nice change.
Hi Beth, just ordered the cute Coffee & Sunshine tee. Looks perfect for the “Cars & Coffee” monthly Saturday morning events in our area. I noticed reading more about the vendor that their shirts are “slim fit” junior sizing, so I sized up. Fingers crossed for flattering fit!
