However, most of us aren’t up for spending tons of money on lash extensions or taking the time and effort to learn how to put on strip lashes everyday! But even if you are stuck with short frail lashes, there are a few tips and tricks you can use to easily make them “appear” to double in size!

Take a look at my before and after photos using these eye makeup tips, then keep reading to find out what they are!

The Summary

Today, Jennifer is showing you how to achieve fake fuller lashes with a few simple steps

Jennifer has some great product recommendations inline, so keep a look out for them!

Fake Fuller Lashes with These Simple Steps

1. Tighten Your Upper Waterline w/ Brown or Black Eyeliner

If you aren’t familiar, tightlining is the act of lining your upper waterline – the fleshy pink part on the underneath side of the lash line. I’m using one of my favorite eyeliner shades, “Black Cocoa” by Pixi Beauty in these photos. It’s the perfect balance between brown + black shade. This technique is not really making the lashes look longer but it is an easy foolproof way to define the natural shape of the eye and makes your lash bed appear bolder.

2. Smudge the upper lash line w/ the same eyeliner using an eyeliner brush

Take that lash line a step further by now drawing dashes along the upper lash line with your pencil. Then quickly smudging the dashes together (before the pencil completely dries) with a pointed eyeliner brush. This creates a pretty soft shadow like appearance that again creates dimension along the lash line.

3. Curl the Lashes in 3 Parts

Don’t leave out this crucial step! I never apply mascara without first curling my lashes to give them a super lifted and lengthy appearance. Curl them in three parts though instead of just one harsh 90 degree squeeze. Gently pulse the curler at the base of the lashes, then at the middle of the lash line, then at the tips to give a graduated curve. I created a YouTube video showing and explaining this step if you’d like to watch it here

If you’re looking to add an eyelash curler to your routine, the iconic Shiseido one is one of the best!

4. Two Coats of Waterproof Mascara

I personally prefer waterproof mascara formulas. Especially in the summertime when sweaty faces are an issue! Waterproof formulas are also really ideal for holding the curl in the lashes longer than regular formulas. Be sure to start by swiping on your mascara from the roots to the tips for the first coat. Then for the second coat, give the wand a wiggle back in forth in a zig-zag motion holding the wand horizontally, to get every lash!

If you don’t love waterproof mascaras, try a tubing mascara! I’m using the L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara in the waterproof version.  Also check out Kevyn Aucoin Tubing.

I wear contacts and have found that doing the tightlining technique doesnโ€™t work for me. Using eyeliner in that area gets all over my contacts which makes for a very smeared up miss. This step Iโ€™ll pass on!

    Jennifer,
I loved seeing you live in your video! I learned how to correctly use my eye lash curler, too!
