new york fashion week is in full swing in spite of the cold, the snow. the gray skies, and a little bit of rain thrown in for good measure. i arrived on friday morning and the first snag was a two-hour wait time for my luggage. yes, according to delta the roads were icy even at the airport. causing a delay as the ground crew had to shuttle from one concourse to another with our luggage. most trips, i cram everything into 1 carry on bag. but this time it was a must to pack boots, and coats, and gloves and anything else to stay warm (am i glad i did – it’s been COLD). hence the checked-in bag. once it was securely in my possession there was no earthly way to make my first show… onward!
bright and early saturday morning i headed over to jill stuart where the models posed on a platform. then yuna yang at 1pm which was held at the gotham comedy club. off the top of my head there was a romantic/shakespearan theme at both shows. crushed velvet, puffed sleeves, ruffles, longer skirt lengths, flat shoes, purples, blacks, dark blue. who remembers short sleeved sweaters layered over shirts or turtlenecks? well, that trend is back for fall 2017.
what i wore: (and yes, these photos were taken in georgia as mr. style stayed behind) boots were a must to trudge through slush and mush. i’m loving these black otk boots. practical and stylish they were the perfect pick for this ootd. winter white is always all right but when it’s paired with black? it turns into a classic color combo. a black cashmere turtleneck is certain to keep me warm. but the star of this outfit is the off white coat with black piping. when it’s zipped it turns into a double-breasted jacket. but left unzipped you catch a glimpse of the entire outfit. and it has pockets galore! what more can i say? i don’t know why, but pockets always make my day.
happy monday!

Lovely black and white classic combination. The hat is great, too! Hope you’re staying warm! I saw more snow heading in that whole northeast corridor. Safe travels home!
i’m home, sue! i always love to head out the door on a trip. but nothing beats home-sweet-home! back to the routine.

Oh how European looking! I love hats and wish we had more occasion to wear them.
i could be in a Bond movie. this hat and coat remind me of something twiggy would wear back in the day.
