when love is in the air, it’s time to step out in style. and that’s just what mr. style and i did for an early valentine celebration. this friday, i’m headed to new york to catch a few shows at nyfw. unfortunately, my trip doesn’t end until the 15th. but i won’t be lonesome come valentine’s day. my son and six of his friends will be my date that evening. guess who’s cooking? since it’s a fairly large dinner crowd i think i’ll serve spinach and mushroom lasagna, crack an egg over a caesar salad, and maybe, just maybe whip up a lemon chiffon pie.
but before i tie my apron on i wanted to step out on the town with my bae (best above everything)! the ootd is kept simple with a silk blouse and black pants with a few fun details. sleeves are all the rage this season and this one has long frayed cuffs. and a cute knot in the back. if you’re not comfortable showing that much skin a nude camisole is the perfect solution. but check out the black pants. notice the subtle texture? details like this are what to look for when you want a little extra pizazz. a pair of red shoes and clutch are the perfect accessories for a valentine dinner. and so is a bold red lip. ain’t love grand?

The pants are great! and the pops of red are definitely the ticket. Happy Valentine’s–and have a great trip!
i hope you had a wonderful valentine’s day, sue!

Love the detail on those long sleeves- you’re looking glorious.
the details on this blouse are so subtle but at the same time elevate it to rock star status.

Oooh, love the subtle pattern on the pants! Have a good trip…sounds you have a good Valentine’s Day planned with your young’un and his pals. xoxo
valentine’s day was so much fun, donna! i made the lasagna, but ended up buying a tray of valentine cookies from whole foods instead of whipping up a pie.
