wide-leg jeans | what’s on trend for fall

wide leg jeans, gray turtleneck, red handbag

the weather finally broke last week dishing up cool mornings and evenings. in fact, one morning it was so chilly i even slipped on my sherpa-lined slippers! it’s been several months since that happened. if my tootsies are cold, i know fall is on the way.

this weekend was busy for yours truly having announced my three-month partnership with Easy Spirit. if you missed that post catch up on the buzz here. and saturday evening found me tagging along to an outdoor concert featuring Hank Williams, Jr. (he’s a spry seventy!) and Kid Rock. it was loads of fun, and the weather was perfect. nothing like sitting under the stars listening to music. and let me tell you both Hank and Kid Rock are on their A-game when it comes to performing.

gray turtleneck

no, i didn’t wear a turtleneck to the concert. but i have been shopping at Banana Republic for all things fall. it’s been a minute since i’ve purchased anything from this iconic retailer that was a favorite of mine all through the nineties and into the twenty-first century. but in recent years Banana has been hit or miss for me. this shopping spree proved to be a success with several items landing in my shopping cart.

last week i sported a blue leopard print shirt that sold out in a nano-second. this week i’m sharing wide-leg jeans that are on-trend for fall. if you are looking to update your wardrobe in a jiff, look no further than an updated pair of blue jeans. it’s an easy and inexpensive way to look modern and chic because we all know a great pair of denim will take you anywhere in style. personally, i’m loving wide-leg jeans and the high-waist. it’s a refreshing change from the skinny or straight jean.

a pop of red perks up a plain jane outfit. today, i chose a red handbag from Tory Burch that pulls double duty as a clutch or cross-body bag.

this leather crossbody handbag is large enough to hold all of my essentials – keys, phone, lipstick, credit cards, and cash.

the embellished plaid shoes are from last year J.Crew. but they have an updated style for 2019 with a pointed toe.

can you believe monday morning is knocking on our door? before we kick off a new week stop by and let me know what your weekend looked like. on the way home from the concert saturday night we listened to the Bulldogs beat Notre Dame! sunday afternoon found me at the movie theater watching Ad Astra starring brad pitt. it’s profound. but why not? it’s set in deep space after all. but at the same time it’s very relatable and i loved the ending. happy monday, ladies!

Love starting my week with your beautiful posts. Not sure I am ready for the wide legged jeans again but they look wonderful on you. So ready for fall, though, and we have not reached cold morning status here in western KY yet.

    • you’ll only know for sure if you try a pair on for size. i think wide-legs are a flattering silhouette for any body type. xo

Beth, I’ve been following your posts for some time now and its been lovely to be able to use the clothes I have in my closet in so many different ways thanks to your great posts.
I love that you are wearing wide leg jeans! We spend winter in the south of Portugal and last year they were all the rage so of course I had to buy some and bring them home. Love them! Have a great week.

I love the look of wide jeans. They look great on you; and so comfortable. Next, I hope wide leg trousers, and wide leg pants in general become stylish again. ( I liked the wide leg pants of the 1970’s. )

Already bought my wide-leg jeans, now I need to freshen up my gray turtleneck to mimic that classic modern outfit 🙂
Do you like Roller Rabbit for resort wear or Georgia summers?

I like the jeans! I’ve always liked high waist pants–many don’t, but I have a thin waist and the lower ride pants make me feel weird. I also like the patch pockets–seems like I saw that same style in some other brand, too, but these are great. Nice red bag, too–very Chanel-esque. I like a small cross-body bag, too–I have a number of variations on the one you’re using, in different colors, and I use ’em all the time. Good to hear you liked the movie–it’s on my list of movies I want to see. Happy Monday!

Nope, not for me. I think you would need to be tall and thin for these to be flattering, and i’m only 5’4”. These also look like a one season trend to me, and I expect clothes to look good for several seasons. But feel free to disagree! Of course everything looks cute on Beth.

I’m only 5’4″ too. What God didn’t give me in height, he gave me in other aspects. Beth looks great in what she chooses, so I’m sure there are things that look great on you too that doesn’t always look great on Beth. I’m not all that thin either right now, but Beth still gives me inspiration. I hope that you have a great day and please don’t be negative about us 5’4inchers – I had 2 neighbors that were only 5′ that made me feel tall, yet they always look on trend in other ways. God Bless!

You look great but I’ll have to embrace a different fall trend. I was recently purging my closet and tried on a wide pair that I saved from the 80’s. SO much fabric LOL
I have loved the narrow and skinny pant styles and just never want to go back. I remember worrying when the skinny leg trend came in about how long it would be before they brought back these wide legs? I really enjoy your blog!

I just couldn’t wear wide leg jeans. I’m fairly slim but short. I think they make most women look heavy. Unless you’re a tall super slim model. To each their own but I think they look awful. Love the turtleneck though!

I began looking at your blog as someone who has a lot of clothing and never knows what to wear. I have many of the pieces you wear-I shop at Talbots, Ann Taylor, and now JJill, and buy shoes and purses at Nordstrom. I am still working full time; and I have a real apple body. I am short and overweight, but always try to dress well for my current weight. I love jewelry and shoes to spice up my professional outfits. I love how you put pieces together, that I would have never thought of. I now read your health and beauty tips-great ideas too. Your blog is a real inspiration.
