good morning, from beautiful Tybee! the weather has been picture perfect and looks to stay that way for the remainder of my stay. a friend of mine tagged along for a few days. lisa leaves tomorrow, but my brother and sister-in-law arrive today, with one of my kiddos and daughter-in-law arriving Wednesday afternoon. the best thing about a beach house is people love to come to visit! who doesn’t want to spend time at the beach? of course, i love, love, love to fling the door open wide as i get to play hostess with the mostess. but if you stopped by today for outfit inspiration, it’s time to transition to fall with blue jeans and blazers. now that’s my kind of outfit!
the temps they are a-changing and our wardrobes with them. sunset last night was 7:31pm. yikes! yes, we know all too well that the days are shorter and the nights longer. it’s time to think about cozy, casual, and comfy outfits. sweaters, boots, and blue jeans come to mind, but loungewear or activewear has come on strong the past eighteen months. while i may not be ready to slip into my beloved cashmere sweaters, i can throw on a lightweight sweater and grab a blazer. yep, it’s my favorite time of year. it’s time to transition to fall with blue jeans and blazers.
y’all know I’ve been singing the praises of Banana Republic for the past year. this brand has gone back to its roots and is killing it! last month i trotted this black blazer out (read that post here), and now it’s sold out. clothes sell like hotcakes at BR, so if you like something, grab it! their Friends & Family sale starts Thursday with 40% off. make a list, then hit the sale the first day. today, i’m wearing the BR black blazer (similar here, here, and here) with boyfriend jeans from Frame (similar here and here). a black crewneck sweater from Banana Republic keeps the outfit classic. At the same time, the white sneakers from Karl Lagerfeld (similar here, here, and here) i picked up at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale add pizazz to this ootd that’s a variation of my style uniform. since mini-handbags are on trend this year, a Coach minibag is just the ticket to add a modern touch.

Very cute outfit. I have a navy blue blazer just like this one from last year that will be really cute. Switch out the navy blue or I can also do the black in another blazer I have. Options are great!
Hope you are having a great time at Tybee.
Hi. Beth! Today’s OOTD is a look I loved wearing long ago. White KEDS were my loves! Inspiration to go “back to the future” is stirring đ Much to enjoy in today’s post. Wish you more happy Tybee Time! ~
Love the sneakers you are wearing. The sunglasses are so cool but I just cant justify spending that much for something I know I will leave behind sooner or later. Drove my husband crazy.đ
Love this look!
I LOVE a blazer and jeans for fall. You look great in this outfit. I have my fall wardrobe all ready, but our Grand Rapids Michigan weather hasn’t gotten the word that it’s suppose to be cooling down…high 80’s to even 90 degrees this coming weekend. Don’t get me wrong…I’m not looking forward to our 6 months of winter, but a month or 2 of fall weather would be great! Enjoy all of your guests this week!
Your hairstyle looks fabulous just as it is today. A tad longer half bangs swept to the side. Best yet.
I cannot find a pair of khaki pants ⌠pull on ready to go with a chunky sweaterâŚplaid shirtâŚa logo TâŚwhere ARE they???
Madeleine,
Have you tried Landâs End for the khaki pants?
Madeleine – An option that worked for me is Issac Mizrahi 24/7 stretch at QVC. They are pull-on with an elastic waist in the back but flat on the front. Usually come in 3 lengths. I wear an 8 – 10 in pants. The IM 10’s fit me like slim pants. The IM 8’s fit me like skinnies. I wear with t-shirts, blouses/blazers and with oversized knits. Both to my law office and on the weekends. Very versatile, not expensive. I have 6 colors/prints…including khaki!
This is my look! I’m heading out this AM with my Talbots navy blazer, girlfriend jeans, white tee, and my white Chuck Taylors! You look great.
Very inspiring post! Love the sneakers. . . actually the entire ensemble looks terrific.
Those sneakers are beyond cute. As is the purse. I want to snatch them when you arenât looking!
