How is everyone surviving the sub-zero temperatures that are gripping 80% of the states? Arkansas has reported new low-temperature records, and Texans are asked to preserve energy during freezing conditions. And they’re snowboarding in Alabama. Although some Alabamans might not have the right equipment to glide down the hill – puffer jackets, boots, gloves, and hats, not to mention a snowboard are all required. A winter storm is headed to Maryland and parts of D.C. and NE Virginia. Yikes! Yesterday in Athens, it was a balmy forty-five degrees and rain, then things really cooled off with an overnight low of 17 degrees! So what do you wear on a winter day? This sweater dress from Barbour will transition easily to spring since it’s 81% cotton and 19% polyamide. It features a wide funnel neck and rib-knit construction. Of course, tights are a given when the temps are frigid, but when milder temperatures prevail, I will forgo tights in lieu of socks. The rule of thumb for wearing tights is to match your dress/skirt or your boots.

I purchased the Trucker denim jacket from the Levi’s store. It is super comfy. The store had the option of adding appliques, embroidery, or paint to the jacket. I opted to have flowers painted on the jacket. They are also painting the buttons. Can’t wait to see the finished result. I was impressed with the quality of the denim pants and jackets. The store also offered tailoring. Will definitely buy any denim items from the Levi store in the future.
