it’s alway a good day when i run into target for bread and milk, and come out with a glen-plaid blazer tucked safely inside my shopping bag. if your shopping patterns are anything like mine there’s always time for a pitstop in the women’s department. maybe that’s why the marketing guru’s at this iconic brand decided to strategically place the women’s section front and center. so it was with great delight when i stumbled upon this little beauty in my size and on sale?! naturally, i scooped it up because i know a classic like this will get oodles of wear year-round. glen-plaid refers to the woven check pattern typically in black and white. other color variations have popped up in recent years, but black and white remains the traditional color scheme for this subtle pattern that originated in Glenurquhart valley in Scotland around the 19th century. my husband always had a glen-plaid suit hanging in his closet that he wore when he wanted a more casual corporate look. today, i paired this blazer with a pair of faux leather pants i’ve worn non-stop going on 2 years now. a simple silk blouse with a coordinating tie keeps this look office appropriate. but i couldn’t resist bringing in a pop of color with my shoes and handbag to brighten up this january morning. nine-to-five chic is in the bag when you wear a classic print.

Great blazer! And great overall look! There are some great clothes to be found a Target – it can be a dangerous place… 🙂
Have a great week, Beth!
Yes, a great blazer! The facing on the collar adds another zip of color.
