if you live in the south, then you know firsthand how beautiful our landscape is. one of my favorites (probably yours too) is the mighty crepe myrtle. with its gorgeous blooms and gnarled trunk, there is something special about this southern lady. four crepe myrtles are planted around our patio. they’re still young (our landscape is definitely a work in progress) but in a few years they will look spectacular, and their branches will give some much-needed shade. can you believe the only sunny spot in our backyard is the patio?! the grass is on the struggle bus because there’s an abundance of shade to contend with while we’re blistering away on our patio chairs with full sun overhead. anyhoo, whenever i spy a crepe myrtle in bloom, i always pester mr. style to stop so we can scope out the territory for a photo shoot. they’re the perfect backdrop with summer hues like today’s ootd – pink and navy.
sailor pants from Ann Taylor are back in action today. and an all-time favorite blazer in hot pink similar here and here. and we all know how much i love pink. actually navy and pink are one of my favorite color schemes that i sneak in every chance i get.

the star of the show today is the pink blazer, so the rest of the outfit is kept easy on the eye with a monochromatic color scheme. navy blue shoes would look terrific, but i chose a pop of pink on my tootsies to add balance. white sunglasses add a cool summer vibe. but don’t forget a bold lip always perks things up, including your mood.
can you believe it’s wednesday already? and july is half over. where is this summer disappearing to? all the more reason to enjoy every minute of these longer days!

Beth, please share the brand of your actual handbag. It is gorgeous. Thank you.
That’s a pretty combo–you blend right in with the crepe myrtles! We have them all over here, and I love them. I actually cut them and stick them in a big vase–they look fabulous for a day or so. They’re all along our avenues, in white, pink, lavender, and what I call fuschia.
Nice bag, too!
So chic and fabulous!
