it’s january, ladies, out with the old and with the new. at least a new pair of denim or two. new denim for the new year as it were. today, i’m partnering with JCPenney on YouTube and Instagram, but i didn’t want my blog readers to miss out on three snazzy outfits i put together that feature white and black denim.
from time-to-time several of you ask for affordable outfits. well, i can’t think of a brand that helps stretch our budget better than JCPenney. and every item that i’m wearing today is from JCP. it all starts with two pair of Levi Strauss jeans.
black jeans have that slimming effect we all love. which is why i always have one pair of black denim in my closet. pair the black jeans with a black turtleneck for a monochromatic look. add a brown faux suede blazer into the mix for a polished and sophisticated outfit that will keep your winter style game strong all season long. but wait. a pair of snake print pumps are on trend and add a little edge, which keeps us looking fresh and modern.

snake print pumps add texture and pack a punch.

i know, i know when i was growing up white was reserved for spring and summer. but these days, the modern woman wears white denim 365 days a year. it can be challenging to find the right pair of white denim. sometimes, they reveal a little too much information. but here’s a style tip: size up one size. that should do the trick.

winter neutrals are a classic and elegant look that’s also fresh and modern.
it’s wednesday, ladies, time to put a smile on someone’s face, including yours.

That first outfit is a stunner…as are you in it! And the tip to size up one size for white jeans is genius~
Very nice looks. I always enjoy a longer coat/jacket/sweater/tunic, as they elongate a look. Nice combinations! I really like winter whites. They look stunning paired with most anything else. Our winter has been extremely mild so far and I’ve yet to wear any boots or really bulky sweaters, etc. I kind of miss using them, but I do have lots of in-between things, so I guess this is a heads up to hold onto them all!
Beth u loved the outfits in the JCP video today! I wondered where you purchased the blouse you are wearing in the video? It has such a unique and lovely neckline🙂
Wow. I can put this outfit together right now. I have the black jeans (also have cream jeans) and a black crew neck cashmere sweater. Only changes are: my snake shoes are ballerina flats and my faux leather jacket is a shorter length. It all goes together and looks chic. Thank you for the inspiration! I will be wearing this combo before the week is over.
Loved this so much that I bought the brown blazer and black jeans as soon as I finished reading your post.
Thank you Beth for helping me start each day on a positive note. I have my iced coffee while reading Style at a Certain Age and I feel like I’m visiting with a good friend.
I love the black with brown outfit. The white and light brown is cute too but I suppose I am old fashion as I retire my white jeans after labor day. They get a lot of wear all summer long.
Glad you “shopped” at Penny’s The closet store to me is closing and I was afriad all of them were.
I love love the all black with the Light brown faux leather coat or jacket. So classic. You look great in this out fit.
Wow, that’s a great looking outfit, thank you!
Wow, she’s back! Love the dark top/jeans with the camel- so sophisticated.

Just wanted to say, I look forward to your site everyday. I love fashion, but my purse says otherwise. Keep posting. Thanks..
Dahling, you look mahvelous!!! Great post and shopping information. 🙂
Love everything!
Clothing, styling and video! Keep up the great work!
Love both looks! The black is my favorite. I just have not been able to bring myself to wear white jeans in winter as sloppy as it is with rain, snow. I would ruin them by having splashes up the back of them! Beside black is more slimming to my pear shaped body!
Love the black jeans! I am going to look at them today. I was recently looking at jeans that were $198! Glad to see you can look great without breaking the bank! BTW, JCP has great cute workout clothes
