but seriously, if you can believe it, when it comes time to narrow down my selections at talbots i always have a hard time. this year, i decided to go the traditional route through-and-through and landed on a look that’s decidedly “borrowed from the boys.” and it all started with this gorgeous camel-hair blazer that is an on-line exclusive. camel always looks smart when paired with gray so the cashmere audrey sweater in donegal tweed was a definite yes. and since i love a-line skirts (what a forgiving silhouette) it was a no-brainer to add the classic shetland skirt in shadow mist into the mix.

of course, accessories are always the icing on the cake. so i couldn’t resist a little old-world charm with a reversible polka dot cashmere scarf. the color scheme ties my ootd together and will serve me well all winter long. black riding boots and a cross-body handbag in tweed boucle finish off my friends and family shopping list.
