does it get any better than a fall day filled with sunshine? or a stroll along the champs-elysées. that is, unless you reside in athens and substitute that paris boulevard for a college campus. no complaints here, because there is something magical about the hallowed sidewalks of a university. but i must admit i do feel quite parisian today with my striped tee, ballet flats, and silk scarf. even my handbag has a quintessential chanel shape.
several weeks ago, i highlighted 10 wardrobe staples i reach for again-and-again. if you missed the post you can read it here. today, three of the items that made the list are put to the test. many of you know i’m a firm believer in making your closet work for you. which is why i favor classic items that can be worn over and over again. but it’s also important to keep your look fresh and modern. one way to do just that is by refreshing a tried-and-true outfit with accessories.
today’s ootd is all about my silk scarf. mr. style bought this beautiful hermes scarf for me years ago while on a business trip. it matches one of my favorite handbags that he also purchased for me. sometimes, i tie the scarf around that gorgeous purse – seen here, and sometimes i belt the scarf around my waist – seen here. but i do love to wear this classic essential in a traditional manner tied around my neck. simple and chic, it just adds that wow factor!
so next time you’re looking for an easy way to refresh your look than put a scarf on it.
happy hump day!

Beth, you have a PhD in making your closet work for you! As I look at your outfit, I mentally go through my closet to see what I have to replicate your look. Our taste is quite a bit alike so this is a feasible endeavor. xoxo
ha, ha! i think i’ll share this sentiment with mr. style! but we do have to keep our closet interesting without breaking the bank.

That scarf is worn magically !
You’re certainly making that closet work for you.
hi lorena!
those darn clothes are quite useful if i put my mind to it.
xoxo
I remember that scarf from when you wore it as a belt–Mr Style did great! And way to capture the canna lilies of the same hue. Athens should hire him for the Chamber of Commerce–he makes it look so appealing! Lovely look!
awww, i’m so happy to hear you like this jacket, sue. isn’t it cute? i love the way it’s cut in the back. and i think you have one of the best jobs. after all, you get to visit one beautiful campus after another!
xoxo
