A Fall Style Refresh: Shop Talbots’ Newest Pieces

For decades, Talbots has been woven into the fabric of my style journey. And Talbots has been a part of Style at a Certain Age since the very beginning, over 10 years ago. Their mix of timeless staples and seasonal refreshes continues to inspire me year after year. Yesterday, we talked about the pop of color trends for women over 50 and Pantone’s forecast for Fall/Winter 2025/26. Today, I’ve pulled together some of my favorite Talbots Fall 2025 new arrivals—pieces that make it easy to bring those trending colors into your own wardrobe.

Talbots Fall 2025 New Arrivals

Blouses That Brighten Your Fall Wardrobe

Blouses and tops are the easiest place to test-drive fall’s trending colors. Talbots is offering everything from timeless stripes to rich animal prints—pieces that can be layered now and styled solo later. These are the building blocks that bring color (and life!) to your wardrobe without feeling overwhelming.

How I am Styling Talbots’ New Arrivals

I am kicking off Fall at Talbots with a pop of golden yellow! Yellow instantly brightens even the simplest look, and this Cotton Twill Toggle Jacket is proof. Layered over a Scallop Trim French Terry Sweatshirt in a matching pop of yellow, paired with Straight Ankle Cuff Jeans, the outfit is casual yet polished—the kind of look that works just as well for errands as it does for lunch with friends.

Add a pair of Bow Slingbacks in a contrasting blue to tie into the blue jeans, and Gold Hoop Earrings for a touch of feminine charm, and you’ve got a versatile fall outfit that’s equal parts cheerful and chic.

How to Style Talbots Fall Clothes, Yellow top and jacket

Sweaters Made for Cozy Chic Layers

Nothing says fall quite like a great sweater, and this lineup blends cozy textures with trend-right shades. Whether it’s a colorblocked knit, classic cashmere, or a metallic turtleneck, Talbots’ sweaters make it simple to embrace Pantone’s bolder palette while staying true to your everyday style.

Sweaters and Cardigans

Polished Pants and Denim With a Fresh Twist

Bottoms are often where we default to neutrals, but Talbots’ fall new arrivals prove pants can be just as fun as a statement top. Corduroys in animal prints, ponte wide-legs, and polished windowpanes show how even classic silhouettes can take on new life in trending fall colors.

Outerwear is where you can really play with texture and structure this season. Talbots’ fall jackets and blazers reinvent staples like the corduroy blazer or quilted coat with modern details and fresh finishes. Each one is a chic way to bring Fall’s forecasted hues into everyday layering.

I have been a follower for some time now and absolutely love all the tips. You are such a classy lady and always look wonderful. But I have to say that the yellow you are wearing in this post really washes out your face. I think it’s important to let women know that not all color trends will look good on everyone. Thank you for listening and I will continue to be an avid follower. Have a great day!

Thank you so much for being here and for your kind words! You’re absolutely right—color is personal, and what flatters one woman may not work for another. That’s the beauty of style: it’s all about experimenting and finding what makes you feel your best. For me, I happen to love a bold yellow moment now and then—it just feels like sunshine in my closet. But I always encourage everyone to stick to the shades that light them up.

    Dear Beth,
Love this fall Talbots’ lineup! The golden honey is such a show stopper. Thanks for sharing ~

    1. Beth Djalali

Isn’t that golden honey just gorgeous? 🍯 It’s such a rich shade for fall and really does turn heads. So glad you enjoyed the lineup—Talbots always knows how to make autumn feel special.

You look great in yellow but not my color. I am a Winter (cool) but love the wine and red colors this Fall. Look through some of the other items you listen and say some great colors for me. If I forgot to mention, Congratulations on your new Granddaughter.

    1. Beth Djalali

Thank you so much—and yes, being a new grandmother is the sweetest gift! 💕 You’re absolutely right, yellow isn’t for every skin tone. Winters always shine in those jewel tones—think wine, cranberry, sapphire, and of course a bold red. So many of this season’s collections have those shades too, and they look stunning paired with black, navy, or gray. Stick to your power palette—it never fails!

What a nice look for fall. The color of the jacket is definitely a fall color. Love it. Also I like your look with the glasses.

    1. Beth Djalali

Thank you so much! Fall colors always feel so rich and cozy to me—I can never resist a good jacket in those tones. And the glasses? They’ve become part of my “fall uniform” too.

I grew up in Talbots, back when sizing was sizing. Like you, Beth, I’m 5’8″. I used to weigh 120 and wore a Talbots size 12. Now I’m 20 pounds heavier and wear a Talbots 4 or 6 – you never know – and only things that have short sleeves. Every long sleeved garment shown has the sleeves pushed up to hide their skimpiness. It’s so frustrating to see the cute clothes and know they will not work. You can’t lengthen “too short”!

    1. Beth Djalali

Oh, I feel this! Talbots has been such a go-to for so many of us, but the sizing shifts over the years can be confusing—and sleeve length is such a pet peeve. At 5’8″, I’m right there with you. When sleeves are too short, there’s no magic fix except pushing them up (which, let’s be honest, is why the catalogs always style them that way). I always say: buy what works for your body today and skip the rest. The good news is there are still gems to be found—I’ll keep pointing them out when I spot them.

I shopped Talbots last week for fall clothes and was very disappointed. I think their quality has definitely declined it was the first time I can remember that I didn’t use my birthday discount.
My store was jammed with merchandise that made it alsost impossible to see what clothing looked like. Hope this is temporary.

    1. Beth Djalali

I completely understand your frustration. Talbots has been a longtime favorite for many of us, so it’s disappointing when the in-store experience doesn’t measure up. I’ll be keeping an eye on the new fall collections and sharing my honest thoughts here—as always. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, because it helps all of us navigate where we spend our time and money.
