In the ever-evolving world of fashion, there's a captivating new trend emerging from the shadows, it’s the rise of quiet luxury. Honestly, the Quiet Luxury Trend started about a year or so ago and exploded on TikTok when influencers began to sport their take on the “old money” aesthetic or “quiet luxury” that was void of brash logos that’s been trending the past few years or fast fashion items that are here today and in the trash bin the next. As runway extravaganzas are replaced by understated elegance and simplicity, the fashion industry is witnessing a surprising rise in this concept that redefines what it means to be fashionable.
Imagine the thrill of making a statement not through flamboyance and excess, but by embracing quality, craftsmanship, and sustainability. So let’s discover a fresh perspective that will inspire you to embrace your personal style with a newfound appreciation for the refined and the subtle – classic and timeless style which this blog has firmly stood behind since its inception.

Quiet luxury is about embracing a more understated elegance and simplicity, where quality, craftsmanship, and sustainability take center stage. And I’m all for it! This transformative concept is redefining what it means to be fashionable. Gone are the days of solely seeking attention and validation through elaborate runway extravaganzas. Instead, the focus has shifted to celebrating the refined and the subtle.
Another factor contributing to this trend which I absolutely love is an increased emphasis on sustainability and ethical practices. In today's world, where environmental concerns and social responsibility are at the forefront of many conversations, quiet luxury aligns with the values of conscientious consumers. It embodies a commitment to craftsmanship, longevity, and responsible sourcing, providing a viable alternative to the fast fashion culture that has dominated the industry for years.
I also think quiet luxury is a response to the overwhelming pace of modern life. In a society that often values speed and instant gratification, this concept offers a reprieve. It invites us to slow down, appreciate the fine details, and find beauty in simplicity.
But you don’t have to spend a fortune or head to luxury retailers to achieve a quiet luxury wardrobe. I chose four outfits today that epitomize quiet luxury without an exorbitant price tag. As a matter of fact, each outfit consists of wardrobe staples that are the workhorses of my closet. Cashmere tees, cable knit cardigans, and tweed blazers are just a few items I reached for.
Camel and black and a gorgeous color combo that’s perfect for a fall or winter day. It starts with black denim and cashmere tee as its base. A double breasted sweater blazer is the perfect third layer for a chilly day. Cap toe ballet flats truly never go out of style and a black leather handbag keeps the outfit grounded in the neutral zone.
One of my favorite wardrobe staples is a tweed blazer that goes with everything from denim to dresses. Today I paired it was a black cashmere tee, neutral pants and cap toe slingbacks for a chic sophisticated look.
Outfit 3 is definitely in the casual zone with an ivory cable knit cardigan, cashmere tee, and denim. A monochromatic outfit always looks tres chic even if it’s firmly rooted in the weekend. Add a pair of sneakers for a modern look.
Take a little black dress add a long cardigan and black boots and you have an outfit that can go to work or the weekend with ease.
All of the items I’m wearing in each of these outfits are classic and timeless with a focus on high-quality fabrics that are sustainable. Natural fibers like cotton, linen, and cashmere, or wool are favored in quiet luxury over synthetic materials, as they have a lower environmental impact and can be biodegradable. Additionally, designers are exploring alternative materials such as recycled fabrics and innovative textiles made from upcycled materials. By choosing materials that are responsibly sourced and produced, the quiet luxury movement aims to minimize the ecological footprint of fashion.
The Future of Quiet Luxury
The future of quiet luxury holds immense potential and promises to bring about even greater transformations in the fashion industry and beyond. As consumers continue to prioritize sustainability and ethical practices, the concept of responsible fashion will undoubtedly gain more traction. This shift in perception will not only shape the choices we make as individuals but also influence brands to embrace responsible production methods, creating a ripple effect of positive change.

This is a wonderful post, Beth! I have always been a fan of this type of style and am grateful to see it is a trend and will hopefully become more widespread and accepted. The 2nd out is my absolute favorite! They are all impeccable. I just recently bought a classic trench from J. Crew and am thrilled with its fit, and classic style. I’ll have it for years to come. Thank you, Beth!
