Happy Wednesday! I am coming to you today, a day earlier than usual because Beth has something special planned for tomorrow when she kicks off her Mother-of-the-Groom Dress series. One of my favorite one-and-done fall outfits is a fall sweater dress. Our winters are mild enough here that I can wear a sweater dress all fall and winter. Especially when I pair the dress with tall boots. I love how versatile sweater dresses can be. They can be dressed up and belted to give a cinched waist, or they can go a little more relaxed and casual unbelted, with fashionable sneakers or loafers.

This particular celadon color of the Enola Dress is nearly sold out, but fear not because it comes in the most gorgeous peony pink color, and also in black or navy. The dress comes with a matching belt, which I like the look of, but you could easily swap out the belt to coordinate with your shoes.
As much as I love a sweater dress, its wearability throughout the day is made more comfortable with a slip. I like the Commando Fitted Slip, it’s light and very smooth. The Enola Dress is not sold in petite, but it’s meant to be a mini, so unbelted, it hits right at my knee. Belted, I have created a slight blouson effect which elevates the hemline.
My over-the-knee boots are several years old, but I found a similar flat boot. I also found a heeled version that I think is quite chic. I love over-the-knee boots because they are great for wearing with dresses and leggings.
My shoulder bag is about 15 years old, it’s Cole Haan and it was the first investment handbag I ever purchased when I had a job as an ad executive in an advertising agency. It was my first big splurge! Unfortunately finding a similar for this bag is practically impossible.
But I did find a Cole Haan shoulder bag from this year’s collection that I think is a gorgeous everyday bag to add to one’s collection. The Grand Ambition Side-Cinch Satchel has a classic shape and is very roomy for holding your daily essentials.

I love black, but have so much of it. 🙂 I’m much older and plan to wear it, if I get it, with leggings. Thanks for all the work you put into this…and your recipes are the “Da Bomb!!” Xoxo Melanie
