in my book, it’s always a good day when casual meets formal, and clicks. that’s just what today’s ootd is all about. some of you may ask, velvet paired with flannel? that would be yes. and we have sharon stone to thank. remember the year she showed up at the academy awards wearing a simple white button-down blouse from the Gap, and a gorgeous lilac skirt by Vera Wang? that outfit ushered in the high meets low fashion era that’s still going strong. for a little holiday party inspiration (christmas is 38 days away!) i pulled on a red flannel buffalo check shirt from Old Navy and mixed it with a tailor-made velvet pencil skirt. i accessorized with a pair of red pumps, draped several strands of pearls around my neck, and reached for a glitzy clutch. voila. i’m ready for just about any holiday soiree that’s penciled in on my calendar.
