Happy Monday, ladies! We’re kicking off week two of 2024, and I’m happy to report all of my Christmas decorations are officially packed away. I gave it the old college try to have that task completed before I zipped off for the wedding weekend. I did manage to corral the decorations onto my dining room table, but my tree and front porch were still regaled in Christmas attire! And my week was so jam-packed that I finally had to wait until this weekend to put Christmas 2023 to bed. And now it's Monday, so technically, I’m singing the blues in The Perfect Date Night Outfit.
My much younger self would have blown a gasket to see Christmas decor up until January 7th. My older, much wiser self said, “Who cares?” I just don’t kill myself these days for tasks like this, although hiring an elf next year to help with putting the decorations up and down has crossed my mind.
One project I am in the process of finishing is storing the outdoor Christmas decorations and my tree in the garage. It’s so much better having them stored on ground zero, so I don’t have to run up and down the stairs with the heaviest boxes. It’s the little things that can make life so much easier. Right?!

Monochrome is the way to go if you want a chic and sophisticated look! I’m a big fan of slip skirts as they come in a variety of colors and you can wear them year-round. With a pull-on waist, you can’t ask for a more comfortable skirt! Add a relaxed sweater come winter and a simple tee or button-down in the summer. Denim jackets are the perfect third layer if you’re going for a casual chic look or a blazer for a more elevated look. There are so many ways to wear a slip skirt that I always have one or two hanging in my closet. Last count, I had four - black, navy, leopard, and paisley.

Add a red lip for the wow factor, and you’re sure to impress the hubs or significant other with your style choices.

I am with you on not knocking yourself out to complete tasks. I usually take my decorations down Jan 6th. This year Jan 7th ! I was busy on Jan 5/6 . I would rather be late (my late) and put stuff away properly than on time and throw things in boxes Willy nillly!

I love the sweater in the skirt looks so nice on you. The navy outfit is excellent. I am in Massachusetts, so I could not wear the sandals. I would have to wear a hail.
