even though i’m a separates girl through, and through there is something to be said about dresses. that’s why when summer arrives i’m dress obsessed. first, a dress is one and done. no need to worry about which items go with what. second, a dress is soooo comfortable to wear all summer long. and there are so many lengths to choose from maxi, midi, or knee length. third, a dress is perfect for work, weekend or special occasion. now you understand why i’m dress obsessed all summer long.
J.Crew has long been a favorite brand to shop for dresses. casual, wear to work, and occasion dresses are available all year long. Anthropologie also carries a wide variety of dresses that help you keep your cool while looking chic. of course, Nordstrom is always a go-to retailer when i’m dress obsessed as well as Ann Taylor and Talbots. take a look at a few more reasons to be dress obsessed.
this metallic tweed dress from J.Crew will take you from desk to dinner in style. it’s a smart choice for summertime temps. but a jacket or cardigan would be perfect partners when it’s time to duck inside a cold office building or theater.
add gold accessories from head to toe to emphasize the metallic thread and gold buttons.

love this pleated A-line dress that comes in pink plus three other colors. nikol’s outfit is from Carolina Herrera.
a shirtdress (similar here) is a practical choice when a casual outing is on the calendar.
fit and flare dresses are a flattering choice for most body types. it’s very ladylike and polished perfect for work or brunch.
yes, i’m dress obsessed but let’s not forget jumpsuits are a great alternative to dresses. they’re one and done too. this striped jumpsuit recently came back in stock. but there are similar ones here, here, and here.

I love a new summer dress. I actually bought two at Talbots this past week. Both are sheath style. One is a print pique nd the other is navy with three dimensional embroidered flowers. Love them both!
I’ve got to started wearing dresses more often. Love this look!
I really enjoy your style, tips, pictures, recipes, and everything you share! I am really liking the sideboard show in upper photos of your page today, and would love additional information in this piece please. Thank you
The dress looks stunning on you! Everything is so casual today, I don’t wear a dress very often. You have given me something to think about!
Thank you Beth!
I like the dress but I really think it is too short. The pink dress that comes to mid knee and the shirt dress that comes slightly above the knee are more attractive.
Hi Beth, I love the dress it’s so unual. I love wearing dresses but always end up with seperates. It looks really lovely on you xoxo
I love a dress–and just as you say, it’s one and done. And I’m ecstatic when I find a simple, chic sleeveless sheath dress that’s a nice cotton, and lined with cotton as well, so you can wash it!–that is perfection in summer. I have several–they’re beautiful, but so comfortable as well. People always compliment you in a dress. These are all gorgeous.
I, too, love dresses. Alas, my legs are such that I can only wear a midi!
That tweed shift looks like it could transition easily to fall with any number of tops beneath it.
