well, we are definitely in the holiday home stretch. can you believe in two weeks 2019 will arrive? ready or not here comes a new year. all sorts of resolutions will be made, christmas decorations packed away, and cleaning house seems to be on everyone’s mind. this is the time of year i go through my closet and get organized for the upcoming year. one of my goals for 2019 is losing ten pounds. arthritis is kicking in, and i’m determined to lighten the load for my joints. studies have shown every pound of weight loss results in a 4-fold reduction exerted on the knees. multiply that by ten and that’s a significant change to my overall health.
in light of that (losing those pounds) i was perusing my stack of blue jeans the other day, tossing some and keeping some. if you can believe it, i noticed i didn’t have a pair of jeans with a built-in cuff. come winter part of the fun of winter fashion is showing off your short boots and booties. hence the search for a pair of denim that would help me do just that. voila! AG denim to the rescue with a deep cuff and medium rinse. and i sized down just to help me stay focused on my new year’s goal. overall the jeans fit, a little snug but they’re on! although i have to admit it was a challenge to button that top button. no problem as chunky cable knit sweaters are the perfect choice when you want to disguise a few imperfections. this one is from Everlane 2018 similar here. and my jazzy suede boots from Ann Taylor that just beg for attention? well, i think these cuffed jeans solved that problem. while the boots have a three-inch heel they are quite comfortable to wear.

Loving the boots!!!
They are nice boots. And I have that exact same Everlane sweater! Always get compliments on it, and it is so comfy. I will second that motion about arthritis–you are so right that it definitely helps if you stay slim, as I know my knees are agony already, and I’m pretty small. I definitely don’t want extra weight on them. I don’t want to add pounds, and I eat extremely healthy, as I am religious about that. Not so much for aesthetics, but because I am determined not to add lbs to have to support! Tomorrow is my big day–Total New Knee #1!
