stripes are a closet essential of mine. but when i find a dress with this iconic pattern i take notice. add super comfy terry knit into the mix, and well, this dress came home with me. one detail that grabbled my attention is the subtle pop of color from the zipper – it’s red! and since i’ve been on the lookout for a pair of red flats since forever these suede pointy-toes also found their way into the shopping bag. guess what you will be seeing in the coming months… today, i kept the ootd super simple and ready to transition into fall with the addition of a scarf. foulard is a traditional menswear pattern so i couldn’t resist a little pattern mix by pairing it with this sporty stripe. and, yes, the little black bag is back in action. because it works – why not have a lbb? it goes with everything. now that monday is up and running we’ll just have to make it a good one!

Love the detail on the sleeves and those shoes…perfect! xoxo
you’ll be seeing this dress again, donna! and you noticed the ruched sleeves. little details like that always make the difference.

Lovely transitional piece–and love the red ballet flats. That’s another season-spanning ensemble. I almost always have a red shoe–it just adds a nice pop of color! (I think I have some Talbots rewards credits…hmmmmmmmm, and they’re on sale already. Ooh-la-la.) Might have to check on what’s out there…
this dress is the perfect transition piece. and super comfy to wear. what more could we ask for? aren’t these red flats perfect? i’ve been on the hunt for the past several years for the perfect red flat. i think i finally found them.

Great outfit! I could see you doing a tv interview in this. Business like and chic!

I love Talbot’s, but I have to say, once again, IMHO they’d do better hiring you to model some of their clothes, like this dress, than the 30-somethings they use in the catalogue. From the online catalogue, I wouldn’t have considered this dress, but seeing you look so chic in it, I realize it’s a dress than I can wear too! Thank you, Beth!
I love the look, but especially love the polka dots in the scarf. I would have used a solid color and wouldn’t have looked as chic.
