#midtown #atlanta
isn’t it fun to hop in the car and take off on a road trip? atlanta is only an hour away from us, so it’s easy for mr. style and i to venture on up there and see what this historical city has to offer. today, we headed to midtown known to be ‘the heart of the arts.’ i won’t’ bore you with all this area has to offer but i will rattle off a few highlights: birthplace of margaret mithchell, author of ‘gone with the wind,’ home to piedmont park, the world-renowned high museum of art, and the award-winning alliance theater. and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. i know, i know, i never met a cliche i didn’t love. but you get the picture. midtown is bustling with ‘things to do.’ plus, there are 14 miles of new sidewalk in place making it easy for this pedestrian to get around midtown with ease. it’s a proper urban neighborhood in atlanta’s predominantly car-oriented society. it’s a beautiful sight to see grocery stores, restaurants, a movie theater, and a butcher sprinkled along the city streets. as well as an abundance of trees. needless to say, we enjoyed our day. and since we were spending the day on foot my ootd needed to stand up to mile after mile of walking. typically, i grab a pair of ballet flats or sneakers for just such an occasion, but today i opted for wedge espadrilles. and i wasn’t sorry! linen bermudas, a cotton tee, and a denim jacket that can be slipped on or off in a jiff, depending on the air-conditioning temps. a striped tote served me well today as a bottle (or two) of water can be tucked inside and is always within reach. can you believe it’s monday? the week is already off and running! make if a good one.

Midtown sounds like a great place for a walking tour and you are dressed just perfectly for such an activity. Gotta have extra water bottles! Love the olive shorts…I saw another blogger refer to that color as caper. xoxo
caper? i’ll have to remember that. i’m always old school when it comes to the names of the colors. the fashion industry is always slapping on a fresh coat of paint with new names i can never remember…

Cool! I like the red espadrilles with this outfit. Great idea. And YES I love a road trip.

hey nikki!
road trips are good for the soul! i highly recommend them. as for the red shoes, they speak for themselves. (and they’re super comfy).
Love red and green together with a dash of denim thrown in! Snappy shoes, too!
hi kim!
i’m always on the lookout for a good pair of espadrilles. How’s that weather up there this summer?
