last week i introduced my new black moto jacket. if you missed that post, you can read it here. motorcycle jackets or a variation of one is a closet staple or wardrobe basic. why? because this baby goes with everything; skirts, blue jeans, a dress the sky is the limit. dress it down just like last weeks post or dress it up as in today’s ootn. yes, it’s date night. time to throw on a pair of heels and freshen my lipstick.
there’s nothing too exciting going on in town at the moment. no football championships to watch or concerts to attend. but it’s date night all the same. one of our favorite low-key nights out is dinner and a movie. sometimes, we skip the movie theater and head straight to one of our favorite restaurants in town. let me tell you, athens has a fair share of fine dining establishments scattered throughout the city. a few of my favorites: the national, five and ten, depalma’s, and taqueria tsunami that’s located directly across the parking lot from the movie theater! but honestly, the restaurant list could go on and on.
today’s ootn is simple but chic with the addition of the moto jacket. add a silk blouse in a contrasting color to keep the outfit grounded. the pants are last season from Talbots and have a lovely herringbone pattern. take a look at a similar pair here. high heels instantly elevate any outfit and suede shoes work 365 days a year. but for those of you who like a lower heel take a peek at this pair. all that’s left is to grab a crossbody bag that converts to a clutch similar here and swipe on some lipstick.

okay, gang, we’re halfway through the week. happy hump day!

The jacket looks wonderful–I think it’s really a classic. You were smart to go for a different style moto this time–it’ll be fun to style different ways. I wish I could wear the heels–I spent most of my life in them, but I’m heading to the surgeon this Friday to discuss double total knee replacements and I don’t think they’re in my future now. I’ll enjoy them on you! thankfully there are still lots of cute flat shoes. I’ve always loved and had tons of shoes.
Now this is my kind of look. I have grey suede pumps, too, but for some reason never wear them with black (only with navy in the warmer months). Time to change that up.
Love it.
Fall is my favorite time of year with all the deep rusts and burnt oranges. But I have to say “spring orange” revives me soul. I love the grey and orange combo. Although we are still in the depth of winter here, it gives one hope just to think about Spring 🙂
Those shoes make me smile. I love how the color repeats the color of your hair. I wonder if that works with brunettes too. So striking on you Beth.
