spring has sprung so to speak so i won’t be singing those monday blues today. and there’s nothing like a relaxed day where the only thing penciled in on my agenda is plant shopping. okay, laundry, but that can wait as the sun is shining and the temps are once again headed in the right direction. hip, hip, hooray!
this weekend we opened our screened porch. no potted plants yet as i thought it prudent to wait just a few more days for the weather to stabilize. hence the visit to our local nursery. afterward, a trek over to lowe’s to see what goodies are in stock. last year our porch housed mr. style’s oversized hammock and side table. this year we’ve upgraded to a wicker sectional, glass dining table, wicker seating and two sling chairs. plus, if anyone remembers, a metal bar cart and side table purchased last summer from nordstrom’s anniversary sale. piece-by-piece, slowly but surely our house is coming together. and i’m happy to report both porches are officially outfitted – front and back. who’s ready to stop by for ice tea and sugar cookies?
okay, ladies, it’s monday. let’s get this party started. make it a good one!

Yep…Motivational Monday…we always love the start of a fresh week! What kind of cookies?-Laurel
Beth – Happy Monday!! I am ready for some outdoor relaxing as well. I am allergic to cold temps!! My hubby says I should just hibernate all winter. Maybe his way of letting me know winter makes me grumpy as a bear??? Haha!
I’m coming to Athens this summer to work on our rental house. We should get together for coffee! We can talk style, decorating, and Athens life. Or rather, I can soak up your knowledge about such things!! I am going to need to hire a painter and handyman. Do you have recommendations?
You are looking styled and put-together as always!! Have a great day!
Oh yes, I think we are all ready for Spring weather. You know warmer weather is coming when the porches are all dressed up and ready to go. We had a big thunderstorm this morning and more to come…ugh… This is one of my favorite casual looks…can’t beat a pair of chinos…need some sparkly shoes…that would brighten up any outfit. xoxo
Nice play on words—-Chinotown! Well, it is officially spring today so I opted for a navy and white striped cardigan, a yellow t-shirt and some navy slacks. It made me feel happier just to wear spring colors. I love the scarf at your neckline. I have many scarves and I have to remember to wear them. Thanks for the inspiration. You look great for just “plant shopping.” I never go out of the house looking sloppy and Friday I had a god reminder why. Took my grandbaby to the mall where there is a playscape and met no less than 2 ladies I haven’t seen in years and 2 friends I see each week. I would have been embarrassed if I wasn’t well groomed.
Nothing like a porch and in the south,we can make use of them for several seasons! sounds lovely. You look comfy and pulled-together all at once. Enjoy!
ME ME ME!!!
