one of my favorite afternoon outings is to my local bookstore. and while it’s ever so convenient to order a book from amazon 24/7 and have it delivered to my doorstep. nothing beats perusing bookshelf after bookshelf of the current bestsellers. but it can be a bit of a challenge to find brick-and-mortar bookstores. if you live in san francisco proper you have to trek up to one of the suburbs to find a barnes and noble. and when i spend an afternoon at my local bookstore i want to browse a variety of sections. children’s books are a favorite of mine and so is home design, and it’s hard to resist the how-to section or biographies. then there are mysteries, and what woman doesn’t love a good romance novel? as you can see, an afternoon spent at the bookstore just demands a super-sized collection. at least for this girl. i love the smell of ink! and since my photographer is tagging along we always make time for a mocha and a lemon bar (he does have a discerning sweet tooth since his childhood in vienna). has anyone read a good book lately? i always love suggestions! one of my all-time favorite books is Noble House by James Clavell.

Great casual look! I like the subtle color-blocking on the jacket.
hi sue!
what would we do without our casual outfits!
xoxo beth
I couldn’t agree more in regards to shopping a book store. My idea of a perfect way to spend time for sure! Your jacket is lovely. Love that it incorporates a zipper!
hi talia!
not too many cardigans out there with a fun zipper. hope you’re staying warm!
xoxo beth
You are rockin’ the hat! Bookstores are a necessity…there used to be a second hand bookstore close to us with comfortable chairs and a resident cat.
