blazers and booties
when the weather decides to dish up a gloomy day it’s time to take action. that’s when a layer (or two) come in handy. lucky for me one of my black friday splurges just arrived. this ribbed hoodie from ann taylor is just the ticket for a chilly day. it comes in two colors – silver frost and oatmeal melange. since layers are in action today why not add a long tunic into the mix? this tie waist tunic also comes in two colors – ivory and black. on a warmer day this baby can fly solo but i love how the shirttail hem peeks out from under the hoodie.
those temps are decidedly chilly today so i popped on a wool blazer for extra warmth. this is one of my all-time favorites by j.crew similar here. the short blazer, long hoodie, and longer tunic is a perfect silhouette for a cold winter day. if by chance the thermometer decides to inch up it’s easy enough to shed a layer.

cold days require comfort food like a piping hot cup of joe. but i like to think clothes offer that same cozy feeling. and i always have favorite standby’s in my closet. denim for one. booties for another. but i have one or two treasured handbags at the ready. one of my beloved brands in frye. based in boston frye is known for their exquisite craftsmanship and iconic style. this melissa hobo bag is made from italian leather. rugged but practical with a removable crossbody strap i love to trot this handbag out every chance i get. it’s the perfect choice with a casual ootd.

Oh, goodie. It’s OK to wear booties with out black stockings. I’ve been wearing my low cowboy boots with out socks showing. Been worried if they were cool or not. Thanks for the affirmation.
I’m fond of the J Crew jackets I have–and this one is gorgeous. You can dress that up or down–the hoodie with it is great.
