Achieve Your Best Spring Skin

Just last week, I did a “skincare product purge” of all my old tubes/bottles I wasn’t using, had used up, or just got rid of the products that weren’t making a noticeable difference on my skin. This felt very cathartic and showed me how much room I had now for new, more effective choices!
After lots of research, trying and testing a multitude of products, I think I have finally found the recipe for an effective evening + morning skincare routine that is giving me my best skin ever at 48!
And I truly believe that these routines:
- Do not have to be super complicated,
- Consistency is so important,
- Protecting the skin in the morning and repairing it at night is the strategy!
In addition to sharing these step-by-steps I implement daily, I’m going to share with you the products and ingredients that actually deliver results, especially for mature skin that needs a little more intention.
The best part? You can grab these high-performing favorites at prices that don’t come around often. This big spring sale ends on Tuesday, March 31st, so if you’ve been wanting to upgrade your routine, or simplify it with products that truly work, now is the time.

Here’s a look at my pro-aging routine, plus my personal product recommendations that are all on sale from 20- 40% off, below.

EVENING Product Recommendations from the Amazon Big Spring Beauty Sale
Double Cleansing
A cleansing oil or balm will help to break down old makeup and dirt, while not drying out your skin. Then follow up by lathering with a gel cleanser to ensure you will have a clean canvas for clear pores and better product absorption!
Cleansing Oil/Balms to try: Palmers Cocoa Butter Skin therapy cleansing oil, $9 (I’ve lost count of how many I’ve bought over the years!) or Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm, $33
Gel Cleansers to try: Paula’s Choice Balancing foaming cleanser (oily skin ), $20, or Tula Skincare Cult classic (dry skin), $23

AHA or Retinols. Alternate these active ingredients nightly. And for sensitive skin, throw in a night or two of rest – meaning omitting this category altogether. Both of these ingredients are extremely vital to slowing down the aging skin process. But should be used in the evenings because they can cause light sensitivity, and they can break down in the sunlight. Retinols support cell turnover, and AHA’s exfoliate at the surface.
AHA’s to try: Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Pads with Lactic Acid, $48
Retinols to try: Paula’s Choice 1% retinol treatment, $51, or Obagi 1% Medical Retinol, $72

Hydrating Serum
Hydrating serums are there to help elevate the efficacy of your moisturizer – basically like the “hype-girl” for whatever comes next, like night creams and moisturizers! They typically have higher concentrations of active ingredients, too.
Hydrating Serum to try: COSRX Snail Mucin Repair Serum, $12, or Vichy Mineral 89 Booster Serum, $29
Rich Moisturizer
Lock in all the previous goodness with a great moisturizer! Look for ingredients like ceramides and peptides. And do NOT forget the neck and chest at night.
Rich moisturizers to try: L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Anti Aging Midnight Cream, $25, or It Cosmetics Confidence in Your Beauty Sleep Cream, $41

Eye Cream or Eye Patches. Taking great care of that delicate skin around the eyes is very important. They deserve their own treatment. I usually wear the eye patches in the a.m. while I’m drinking coffee and getting ready to send kids off to school, then wear a thicker eye cream at night.
Eye Creams and patches to try: Terez + Honor collagen gel eye patches, $16 (these do NOT slide down the face, which I love), and Beauty of Joseon Revive Eye serum, $11
MORNING Product Suggestions from the Amazon Big Spring Beauty Sale

Toner
I wash my face at night, so I don’t see the need to rewash it when I wake up! Plus, I have very dry skin, and overwashing exacerbates the dry factor. I use a toner instead because it helps remove residual impurities while also balancing the skin’s pH and prepping it to absorb the rest of your skincare lineup.
Toners to try: Biodance Collagen Toner pads, $20, and Anua various Toner pads, $18 for different concerns
BHA or Vitamin C
BHA’s main job is to work at clearing away buildup within pores, and vitamin C protects the skin from collagen breakdown and helps to keep dark spots and discoloration away – both of which help with overall skin radiance! Again, alternate daily these active ingredients. No need to do both every day.
BHA + Vitamin C to try: the iconic Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant, $29, TruSkin Vitamin C Facial serum, $15

Moisturizer with SPF. If you’re over the age of 20, you should definitely already know that you need to moisturize and protect your skin with SPF daily, no matter what and no matter your skin type! You just need to find the one that’s right for you.
Moisturizers with SPF to try: (for oily skin) this Paula’s Choice Youth Extending Daily Hydrating fluid with SPF 50, $31, (for dry skin), Neutrogena Hydro Boost with SPF 50, $20, LaRoche Posay Double Repair face moisturizer with SPF 30, $22

Brightening Eye Cream
Everyone wants help with tired-looking eyes and to reduce the look of dark circles! Using a topical cream to energize and hydrate with ingredients like caffeine and hyaluronic acid is key! I wear this alone for a fresh-faced look or add my concealer on top for extra coverage! My concealer is also on sale right now – this NYX Bare with Me Serum concealer!
Brightening eye creams to try : (My fave) – the Colleen Rothschild Illuminating tinted eye cream, $38, or the Tula Skin Care Spresso Energizing Eye Balm in rose, $28

The Rest of My Look Details
My soft stretch boxy v-neck ribbed tee I’m wearing is on sale for $15 from American Eagle, and I bought it in 3 colors already. If you have a short torso, don’t like to tuck in tee shirts, but hate for them to be too long or too tight, this is the perfect easy breezy summer tee. Wearing a small.
