blue jeans and button-down

for this blue jean mama, nothing can compare with a faded pair of jeans. way back in the day, before calvin klein came along and revolutionized denim to designer status, there wasn’t much of a selection besides a pair of levi’s. and, way back in the ‘seventies when denim had not a bit of stretch, and i weighed in at 115 lbs. that was perfectly fine. thank goodness times have changed! i love the selection of denim that’s available nowadays. i also love the different rinses blue jeans come in, my favorite is a dark rinse, but there’s something to be said about a faded rinse. years ago, if i wanted to fade my jeans i had to carefully add bleach to the washing machine, being ever so careful as to not make splotches on the fabric. or if i wanted a pair that fit like a glove, most likely i had to lay down on my bed, suck my stomach in, and zip…but all of that has changed. take a look at my perfectly faded denim for today’s ootd that fit my body to a ‘t’ thanks to a bit of lycra. i’ll always love to don a pair of blue jeans, after all, i’m an american girl through-and-through. add a button-up shirt, a simple cardigan, ballet flats, and i’ve got a look that’s american classic – casual and chic.

i’m a big believer in form plus functions. not only for clothes, but in the home. my wardrobe and home have to work for me!

  2. Love the rich leather colors mixed with the denim. You have a nice combination of youthful and classic together. I struggle sometimes when not wearing jeans at looking too conservative, so I often wear jeans to knock things down a bit. It’s my favorite look I guess.
