good morning, gang! it seems as if we’re cruising through the dog days of summer at a rapid pace. but we still want to beat the heat in style. and do i have an adorable outfit for you today? tuesday i shared Vince Camuto separates worn as a dress. read that post here. today. i’m wearing Vince Camuto separates dressed down.

paisley is a traditional print that hails from persia. the tear dropped shape became popular in the west in the 18th and 19th centuries. the paisley pattern was named after the town paisley located in western scotland. back in the day, this town was the center of textiles that produced this iconic print. these days paisley is found everywhere from home design to men’s ties to women’s clothes. as a young girl, i grew up in a room wallpapered in pink and green paisley. it was divine! since then paisley has remained a favorite pattern of mine.

today’s ootd is all about summer casual ease thanks to Vince Camuto separates dressed down. it’s important to me to create a versatile wardrobe that gives me bang for my buck. and i’m a big believer in buying separates that can be mixed and matched with other items in my closet. this Vince Camuto color palette easily coordinates with khaki, ivory or red. today, i chose to wear khaki bermuda shorts from J.Crew with the Vince Camuto top then polished the outfit off with gold accessories, including gold sandals (old, similar here and here).

anyone notice a new handbag? yes, this Michael Kors tote found on my Macy’s shopping spree came home with me too. didn’t i tell you i did some damage?! the handbag can be carried as a rectangular tote. or tuck the sides in to create a triangle for added visual interest. the rope handles give this handbag a summery twist. but the gold metallic fabric is what sets this handbag apart from the pack. it also comes in four colors.

Beth, I love this outfit. This is how I like to dress in the summer. Shorts or ankle pants with a lightweight flowy or jersey top. I don’t look good in t shirts so this is my style uniform. You look casually elegant!

This is terrific…Another idea I can swipe! ☺️ It’s funny how moving to a new area and settling in to a new routine (recently retired) can challenge how you use your wardrobe even when it’s built on classic pieces. Thanks again Beth…you’re the best!

I am starting to wear more of these flowy tops rather than tees all the time so this top is perfect! I also adore paisley and have many paisley scarves that I use to accessorize. You are such a class act! 💕

Looks like a nice summer outfit with colors that make it perfect transitioning into the early fall (at least here where it’ll definitely still be warm.) Great mileage outta’ that top!
