Happy Friday, Gang! Can you believe we’ve reached the last Friday in September? You know what that means. Pumpkin season is officially upon us! It’s time to gather our pumpkins, spruce up the porch, and embrace all things fall. Pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin pancakes, and maybe even a pumpkin cocktail or two. Why not? I’m ready for cozy sweaters, crisp mornings, football Saturdays, and pumpkins of every shape, size, and color spilling down the front steps. Add a few mums, a festive wreath, and a lantern or two, and we’re officially in business. A little autumn zhuzhing goes a long way! What a week it’s been! I headed to Mah Jong, sweated through a session with my personal trainer, and — the real headline — welcomed granddaughter number three! Mom and daughter are doing well! Dad, too!
And then, just to keep things interesting, my dating life delivered another plot twist. I recently met a gentleman on Match, and after a lovely lunch last week, he was quite enthusiastic about seeing me again. In fact, we scheduled date number two while I was headed to Chicago. Unfortunately, my flight home was delayed on Sunday, so we rescheduled for Thursday evening. All systems go. Or so I thought.
Turns out, he met someone shortly after our lunch, and despite the relationship being long-distance, he feels compelled to explore it because they’re “so much alike.” Fair enough. But here’s the kicker. He’d still like to keep my number because, apparently, life is full of twists and turns.
