are you ready for a jet tour through the rest of 2018? coming at you fast and furious is july through december. it is so hard to believe that 2019 is only two days away. 2018 has been memorable in so many ways i think i just might want to bottle it. mr. style and i celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary on august 6th. a few short weeks later i turned 60. both are momentous milestones. i have to admit the years are flying by at breakneck speed. certainly, i’m aging with each and every year that comes and goes. but i’m reminded with each passing day just how precious life is. it’s meant to be enjoyed and savored at every age and every stage no matter how many wrinkles stare back at us from the mirror.
so without further adieu let’s take a look back at july when the skies were blue, and the temps were hot. and one of my favorite holidays made an appearance – the good old fourth of july complete with corn on the cob, hamburgers, and fireworks! let’s not forget ice cream. or better yet, homemade ice cream.
who doesn’t love stripes? this collaboration with Lands’ End allowed me to put my love of stripes to the test. nothing better than a striped dress similar here, a pair of snazzy tennies and gold-tone tote.
sprucing up the house for the fourth. don’t the window boxes look lush and green? mr. style placed bunting across the porch and added flags for a patriotic touch.
for whatever reason, this post that included pattern mixing was a HIT with you. gotta love the cheerful pattern of this floral skirt. and the striped tee? perfection
on august 6th mr. style went from behind the camera to the front. in our anniversary post, i shared what i learned after thirty-five years of marriage.
summer just wouldn’t be summer without a dose of white.
when september rolled into town, i was thrilled to partner with Talbots as their Fall Classics Guest Editor. this blazer, handbag, and scarf were among my favorites.
fall fashion is in full swing come september, but the temps typically don’t oblige with the influx of wool, long sleeves, and boots. it’s always a balancing act on the blog to showcase the latest and greatest fall items while keeping one eye on the changing weather.
leapin’ leopard! our favorite animal print was everywhere this fall including this adorable sweatshirt that sold out in a nano-second.
october was jampacked with activity. at the beginning of the month mr. style and i headed to new york to attend a conference and watch a performance of Wicked. the end of the month found us sailing the seas on a caribbean cruise.
this track sweatshirt dress from Athleta is my new favorite. it was a dream to wear while traversing those chilly airports. a plaid puffer vest and comfy tennies completed my ensemble.
every classic wardrobe needs a jean jacket. it’s a great layering piece when the temps finally cool down but haven’t turned frigid.
november always marks the beginning of the holidays and with it lots of festive and fun outfits. i was thrilled to partner with J.Crew Factory to share a few of my favorites with you. this frenchie sweater was absolutely adorable with pops of pink.
navy blue and kelly green is such a happy color combo. add a pinch of leopard, and this ootd is darn near perfect.
a monochromatic is simple and chic. plus it takes very little effort to put together. when you’re short on time, think monochrome tones.
the next few posts from december are still fresh in your minds. but i do like these red pants especially combined with a spot of leopard.
what a pleasure it was to partner with Eileen Fisher who reminded us to make space for the holidays. this shimmer jacquard jacket is as versatile as it is chic. doesn’t it look fab paired with a ruffled neck dress?
these black watch plaid pants were an all-time hit with y’all. dress them up or dress them down, either way, they’re perfect all through the holidays. and beyond.
phew! that’s it, ladies, a recap of 2018. can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store. my buzzword for the upcoming year is growth. what’s yours?
