come sail away with me as mr. style and i are headed on a seven-day caribbean cruise. this warm-weather getaway comes just in time as our temps have been chil-ly this past week! guess who won’t mind a warm island breeze or two? and while there will be lots of fun in the sun onboard the ship and our port stops – st. johns, tortola, and nassau, i honestly had to stop and think, “what do i wear on a cruise?” days at sea are filled with a variety of activities from art auctions to hanging out on the open deck enjoying the ocean waves. so lightweight mix and match attire came to mind – shorts, lightweight pants, tees, and skirts make up the bulk of my attire with several formal outfits geared towards cocktails and dinner. although the dress code on most evenings is fairly relaxed, there’s between one to four semi-formal occasions headed our way. otherwise, cool and comfortable is the key.
swimsuits are a must, two in fact so there will always be a dry one to wear. and a bathing suit cover-up is key as most cruise-lines request you wear one when not on an open deck. casual shoes, dress shoes, and a hat, as well as comfy pajamas, are coming along too. workout clothes – check, sundresses – check. and let’s not forget the sunscreen. phew! i’m definitely ready for a little r&r onboard.

Obviously you must be checking your bag because you have not included your “cocktail” attire! 😄
6 pairs of shoes! Wow!
Love the tankini’s and cover-ups. That is the weakest part of my wardrobe.
Hope you have a great time! Post lots of pix on Instagram!
i almost always check my bag in! guess it’s an old habit from our international days. i will do my best to post photos! and sneak in a blog post to boot. xo
Love your white tennies and your glass frames. That was what I had in mind when I ordered new frames last week. You look great in them. Classic white tennis shoes are always nice looking. Although my cruise in August was to Alaska, a whole different clothing selection, I noticed some similar things that are musts. Thanks for sharing.
lots of activities are jam packed into one seven day cruise! we’re definitely looking forward to some down time though. xo
You must take more than one checked bag on the airline to pack that many things. We just got back from a 7 day cruise, and I only checked one bag. I didn’t have nearly as many options. Many pieces had to double up. Fortunately, laundry services are available on most cruise ships.
only one checked bag! i’m a very efficient packer and can squeeze lots in. and, yes, laundry service is provided on cruise ships if needed. xo
Have a wonderful trip. Woman of international mystery.
thanks so much, jackie! mr. style and i had a ball on the cruise ship. xo
Have fun on the cruise. Soak up some rays and relax!
thanks, sue! we thoroughly enjoyed our time at sea. xo
Beth, I’m in love with that red handbag. Where did you find it?
the suede handbag is from talbots. unfortunately, it is sold out. xo
