five march pinterest trends

pinterest has to be one of my favorite sources for inspiration. if i’m stuck in a design rut, i head to pinterest for some pinspiration. this social platform is an endless resource of idea generating goodness. when you find a photo you like simply ‘pin-it’ onto one of your boards. pinterest brings together all your favorite visual sources and puts them into one place. how’s that for user-friendly? if you’re not following me on pinterest, please check my account Style at a Certain Age. of course, i share my daily ootd, but i also have hairstyle boards, recipes, parties, quotes, and so on and so on.

but today, i thought we would talk about what’s trending on pinterest. in other words, what are people searching for when it comes to inspiration. so i rounded up five march pinterest trends. here they are:

spring cleaning

this comes as no surprise. once milder weather heads our way we’re more than ready to clean our houses inside and out. and with the popular netflix series Tidying Up with Marie Kondo all the rage, it’s no secret that we’ve become obsessed with decluttering and folding clothes. if you’re ready to conquer that clutter, marie also has a popular book available The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up.

pearls

can you believe my favorite gemstone is making a comeback? but if you love pearls like i love pearls you know, they are a classic in their own right. but pearls are everywhere this season especially baroque pearls with their irregular shape.

signet rings

signet rings have been around for centuries. and i mean way back to the romans and the greeks when signet rings were used as an instrument for signing documents. in fact, a signet ring was one of the most valuable items a gentleman could own. today, signet rings are no longer a necessity. but their classic style is once again on trend for both men and women.

wrap dresses

it’s claimed that diane von furstenberg invented the wrap dress in the early 1970s. there’s some debate that comes with this claim. but no one can deny a dvf wrap dress is so comfortable and iconic that she will forever be associated with this wardrobe staple. and while wrap dresses soared to popularity then peaked in the mid-seventies, they’ve stayed the course for years. but now it seems that wrap dresses are having a resurgence and are once again in vogue.

blue

it might be said that blue is the new black. for whatever reason, blue is riding a wave of popularity in recent months. some think blue is less harsh than black. others have always gravitated towards this primary color. there’s always room in my closet for any shade of blue. it’s calm it’s cool. it’s the color of the sky and ocean. and it’s been said that blue reduces stress. no wonder blue pops up in so many bedroom ensembles.

if you’re looking for a little fashion inspiration, i’m sharing my top pins from the past month.
