are you a blue jean mama like me? if so, you have jacob w. davis partnership with levi strauss to thank for this invention. the two businessmen came together to patent this revolutionary product way back in 1873. while sales have always been robust for denim since that time it was the 1950’s teenager that gave this humble pant some traction. and blue jeans, nicknamed by the baby boomers in the 1960’s, have been picking up steam ever since. today, there are so many designs to choose from. and the comfort level is incredible due to the addition of spandex. so what’s a girl to do when it comes to buying the ‘perfect’ pair? well, my advice is to take an afternoon and try on a gazillion pairs. when you find the ‘one’ you’ll know it. but i thought i’d share a few of my favorites that i reach for time-and-again. if you’re like me you’ll want to throw in one or more denim jackets, a skirt or two, and don’t forget denim dresses are just plain comfy.
here’s what’s trending in denim for 2017: rigid, vintage inspired denim; wide-leg and boot cut hems; white, ivory and sand color jeans; destroyed and distressed; patchwork; and frayed hems.

It’s hard for me to comment on any one outfit, you share so many great ones today, Wow. Just have to say, I really like every single item, and wish they were all in my closet. Also, I loved the video of your closet, very very NICE..So I will say WOW again!
awww, thanks, bonnie! i do like blue jeans and the evidence is in the closet video. but they are so dang versatile and there are so many different outfits you can create with just this one item.

Denim is so versatile. I never before had a job, until now, where– if I wanted to– I could actually wear jeans to work, and I sometimes do–with a jacket and nice shoes or boots or whatever…and scarves, etc to dress it up. They’re so comfy and you can change a look completely depending on the cut/style/shade of blue etc. These are all great!
i think that’s why i’m such a fan of denim – they are so versatile. as you know! but what i love most is that they hail from america. what’s better than that?
xoxo
I love the pink and grey striped, side buttoned sweater/sweatshirt in your selfie picture with the Banana Republic girlfriend jeans! Where is it from?
