even though my style is american classic, i keep one eye firmly fixed on the trends. it’s always a good idea to mix closet staples with what’s ‘in’ like the color red seen everywhere the past few months. when we incorporate trends with our tried-and-true classics our wardrobe stays modern and fresh. so i’ve rounded up several fashion 2018 trends we’ll be seeing this spring focusing on the ones i’ll be able to integrate into my current lineup. and maybe yours.
check print – this is a no-brainer for me as i love checks! look for shoes, dresses, and pants with this print for a fresh way to wear checks this spring.
buckle shoes – buckle shoes have been around for – ever. remember those pilgrims who landed on plymouth rock? this time around buckle shoes, boots, even sandals never looked so good.
ultra violet – pantone has deemed this shade of purple as the ‘color’ of the year. it’s vibrant and bold. i think i like it! watch out ‘cuz this color is everywhere, including your nails and lips.
utility jumpsuits – ever since i purchased a calvin klein denim jumpsuit in my early twenties i have been in love with jumpsuits. it had a zipper and elastic waist that i threw a belt over. this time around think ‘flight suits’ inspired by the military. the past few months, this girl has been on the hunt for a new rendition of a long time favorite.
oversize jewelry – when it comes to baubles the trend the past few years has been delicate and dainty. but that’s all changing. statement jewelry is big and bigger this year. go bold or go home.

Love it! Can’t wait to see how you update your classics with the new trends. I will sit out the jumpsuit trend myself but know you will put everyone to shame with your jumpsuit style!
Hi Beth, I love what you do! You make women feel connected! Keep it up! Thanks for the heads-up on fashion trends. Here in the UK, and Europe, I’m noticing a penchant for the colour mustard yellow.
I had no idea about the shoe buckle trend! this is one I’d love to try… very likely with a vintage shoe clip set.
