there is nothing more delightful than watching the next generation grow into wonderful, purposeful, confident, strong women (and men – i happen to have raised three boys). today, i have the privilege of sharing my post with just such a young woman. i first met shannon back in 2006, the year our family returned home to the States for our son andrew’s senior year in high school. i am happy to report that shannon and andrew became fast friends and soon shannon became a frequent visitor to our home. i was lucky enough to share a score of conversations, laughs, and more jelly bellys than i care to remember, as i watched her spread her wings and soar into brave new territory as graduation day fast approached. over the past seven years there have been scores of changes in both of our lives, university, new careers, new cities, new horizons, each of us building new lives. but one thing remained steadfast – our friendship, which is why i was excited to share a photo-op with this sweet young woman when she arrived in San Francisco for a whirlwind trip. i thought it would be fun if we both chose black leather leggings and sneakers for our ootd styled two ways. of course, i went with a more conservative look with an oversized sweater from zara in a burnt orange. but i kept the look a bit youthful with leopard slip-ons from target. shannon’s look is fresh, and on trend with a graphic tee, high-top kicks, and a billowy kimono. she looks fantastic, don’t you think? thanks, sweetie, for being a style muse for the blog. our evening together went by all too fast, but we squeezed in a few drinks, laughs, and a fabulous al fresco meal thanks to the amazing san francisco weather.
