as we inch towards winter and the days shorten i gravitate towards darker colors. black, brown, green all seem to creep into my wardrobe on a regular basis. don’t get me wrong, i love those color schemes, but it is also important to incorporate pops of color into my outfits to brighten my day, and mood along with it. which is why i reached for a floral pattern for today’s ootd. two of the trends i love this season are novelty prints and sweatshirts – a verifiable dream come true for this casual chic gal. i’ve been a big fan of sweatshirts since my university days when i would roll out of bed and slip one on before heading off to class. although back in the seventies my sweatshirt du jour choices were slim to none – mostly logos of respective alma maters emblazoned across the front of grey, black or white sweatshirts. i’m certainly happy to see this is one trend that has improved the second (third or fourth) time around!
