Happy Sunday, gang! We’re kicking off Resort Week with How to Travel in Style. Most of my trips involve air travel but now and again yours truly hops behind the wheel and drives to the destination.
This past week I did just that as I zipped off to the Ritz Carlton Lake Oconee for a weeks’ worth of fun in the sun and a little work thrown in for good measure.
Today, I'm showing you how to travel in style with 3 travel outfits
I'm also sharing tons of packing tips as well
All of my suggestions are shoppable via text- and image-widgets
When I travel by car I want to be comfortable yet stylish. Enter the Spanx Air Essentials Collection which is hands down the BEST activewear! Well, I’m a big fan of Vuori too…
Several months ago, I featured the Spanx half zip and matching wide-leg pants on the blog and Instagram. I LOVE that set so much I knew I would be adding on to my activewear collection. This time I chose a mock neck top, cropped wide legs and a tapered pant.
The day I left for the Ritz Carlton was a bit chilly so I threw on an organic cotton cardigan from Talbots that matches my Air Essentials set to a T! Since I am traveling by car my footwear is much different than airport travel.
Enter a pair of metallic flip-flops from J.Crew that are a great choice with the tapered pants. Or if I’m wearing the cropped wide-leg pants a pair of platform sneakers adds balance to the outfit. You can’t go wrong with either outfit from Spanx Air Essentials.
I might have to go back and purchase the Cocoon Cardigan and I’ve heard great things about the Jumpsuit.
On my way back home I chose to wear Vuori Performance Joggers, matching tank and jean jacket. I knew I would hit the ground running once I was back in Athens: grocery store, nursery, and a few other errands thrown in for good measure so I wanted to be comfy yet put together.
You never know who you will run into. Right?! It was a beautiful sunny day but again it was chilly so my trusty jean jacket was back in action!
There are always lots of questions about my luggage. I travel with the Delsey Chatelet Collection and couldn’t be more pleased with the set! There are multiple sizes for luggage and they feature backpacks and totes as well. For this trip, I needed lots of space (for the photo shoots) so the 28” Check-In Spinner came along.
And I always bring my laptop computer on trips. This Tory Burch Zip Tote is the perfect size to fit my laptop as well as the leather laptop envelope I like to slip it into for protection when I’m on the road.
Skincare
I also pack travel-size skincare from Colleen Rothschild. The set comes with seven essential skincare products and its own travel bag! For a little extra something The Exploration Collection offers four skincare goodies that will come in handy on your trip. It also makes a great Mother’s Day gift.
Packing Cubes
Packing cubes help you stay organized. They come in different sizes from extra small to large. Use packing cubes to separate lingerie from swimsuits or your tops from your bottoms. Calpak is a durable choice that’s available at Nordstrom but Amazon carries lots and lots of packing cubes for a bargain.
Toiletry Bag
A good toiletry bag is a godsend. Hanging toiletry bags are quite popular. I have a monogrammed set from Mark & Graham that includes a cosmetics case and travel pouch.
Makeup Case
Stock up on your favorite beauty products that come in mini sizes. That way your cosmetic bag is always ready to throw in your suitcase at a moment’s notice. But a great makeup/cosmetic bag is a must! For some reason, I was always forgetting to pack my makeup brushes until I purchased this makeup bag that has a special pouch for brushes. It also has adjustable dividers and a shoulder strap.
Pill Case
Organizing medication, supplements, and vitamins has never been easier than with a pill case
Jewelry Case
Don’t forget to invest in jewelry boxes to easily stash your jewelry. I travel with a hard case and/or roll-up jewelry pouch.
Travel Tip:
Charger Rollup
Keep your tech essentials within easy reach with a leather charger rollup. Headphones, charging cords, etc… need to be accessible while traveling. Am I right?!
Portable Charger
Never leave home without a portable charger.
All right, ladies, that’s a wrap for today. But stay tuned all week long as I have some fantastic spring/summer outfits from Lands’ End, Farm Rio and swimwear from my favorite brands! I'm leaving you with some recent Amazon travel finds I'm liking.

As always, Beth, love your travel posts. I’ll be ordering the foldable travel mirror from Amazon soon! By the way, I just recently ordered the Spanx jumpsuit and it fits like a dream. Well worth the money! For reference I’m 5’3” , 118 lbs. and the petite small fits me perfectly!
I’m so glad to hear you love the Spanx jumpsuit! I’ve heard it’s very comfortable.
Great Post! You are sharing a wonderful post. Thanks and keep sharing.
I love the luggage. I’ve always wanted some light colored luggage like that. But I worry it will get filthy after a few trips. My navy blue set looks like a gorilla threw it around! How does yours do??
Hi Gray! The white luggage is easy to clean with a MagicEraser, but they also sell TSA-approved clear luggage covers, which would work
for any color suitcase.
