all right, ladies! summer has arrived and with it a plethora of sleeveless tops, shorts, skirts and summer dresses. if there’s any time of year to get it in gear and get into tip-top shape it’s summer. many of you know i had a total knee replacement on April 6th. the months that preceded surgery were sedentary, to say the least so i definitely have my work cut out for me (again) to replace the layer of fat that decided to move on in with lean muscle and shed a few pounds. is it easy to lose weight after 50? no, it gets harder every year due to changing hormones and a slower metabolism. is it impossible to lose weight after 50? absolutely not. if we are determined to age with grace, strength, and beauty to lead an active and vibrant lifestyle you will have to tweak your diet as nutrition is 90% of the battle.
so when the going gets tough i always go back to the basics. and no program has influenced how and what i eat every day more than Faster Way to Fat Loss. this program opened my eyes to how to live a healthy and happy lifestyle with combined exercise and nutrition. this program continues to get better and better. when i went through my first round of FWTFL in January 2018 there were no meal plans and no app with daily workouts for low, medium, and high impact. i love the new additions to the program. here are a few things that Faster Way to Fat Loss will help the over 50 woman achieve:
increase your energy
gain strength
tone up and lean out

intermittent fasting is a key cornerstone to FASTer Way to Fat Loss. smoothies are a great way to break my fast. fresh berries, avocado, lemon, almond milk, and a scoop of collagen proteins start my day on the right foot. what is intermittent fasting you ask? here’s what FWTFL has to say:
Fasting turns your body into a fat burner.
Daily periods of fasting change your body at a cellular level. In addition, it helps to regulate hormones like insulin and HGH to make the fat stores in your body more accessible energy sources. The time given to your cells to repair during fasted periods allows cells to remove waste and function optimally. Intermittent fasting allows time for the body to utilize fat as its main source of energy, which means you not only lose weight, but you’ll see an improvement in your overall body composition. Intermittent fasting allows you to maintain muscle mass which speeds up your metabolic rate, while helping you shed fat.
Intermittent Fasting helps reduce the risk of Type 2 Diabetes.
A daily fast allows your insulin levels to remain regulated and stable. This means that your insulin levels are able to function optimally throughout the day, which then means you are less likely to become insulin resistant, and less likely to become diabetic. Studies have shown that intermittent fasting reduces overall blood sugar levels by 3-6%1 .
Intermittent Fasting can prevent disease and boost the immune system.
While the fat loss benefits are enough to convince most people to try intermittent fasting, one of the other “side effects” of regular fasting is that it boosts your immune system. Intermittent fasting allows our body to remove waste from our cells. This means that it can break down the waste that can build up over time, which can lead to a decrease in susceptibility to both cancer and Alzheimer’s.
There are several other benefits one might experience due to regular intermittent fasting: better sleep and more energy, greater mental clarity and the development of more neurons in the brain, along with better digestion and less inflammation. There truly is no downside to Intermittent Fasting and it has been a game-changer for all of us at the FASTer Way and our 100,000+ clients.
The FASTer Way to Fat Loss® has gotten so many people results largely due to the practice of Intermittent Fasting. Here’s what our client Amy had to say about her FASTer Way experience:
“I came into this program at the age of 51 with more than 60 pounds to lose to be at a healthy weight. Amanda encouraged me to go at my own pace with the exercises but to still push myself to my own limits. The change in eating habits was something I could do 100% and I did! The results were amazing. I lost 18 pounds in the six-week period, and I felt younger and more energetic than I have in a long time. Repetition is how we establish habits, and these are good habits I want to make a permanent part of my lifestyle.”
There are literally thousands of testimonials just like Amy’s. Regular, everyday women and men who have made drastic lifestyle changes to not only shed unwanted fat, but look and feel better than they’ve ever felt before.

lots of fresh leafy greens and kale are the makings of a healthy meal. i love to toss in edamame, spinach, asparagus, dried cranberries, and sunflower seeds. the salad dressing is olive oil and lemon juice. it’s an easy peasy meal that’s perfect for a hot summer day.
on days when i want extra protein, i’ll add chicken, salmon, or steak to my salad.
headed to my first physical therapy session on April 8th. it’s a long process to rehabilitate your knee. that’s when you rely on the experts to reach your goals. and i am so very thankful for my physical therapist who pushed and encouraged me along the way. after my pt sessions ended i was given the green light to hit the gym again.
weight training is so important as we age. we lose muscle at an alarming rate after the age of 50. but cardio is important too. two years ago i made an investment in myself and purchased a Peloton bike. what a lifesaver. cycling is the perfect exercise for me as it is low impact yet gets my heart rate going for a complete workout. many Peloton classes integrate weight training for your arms.
ladies, my fitness journey is starting from scratch. but i’m up for the challenge. nothing is more important than our health but as we know it can be taken away in the blink of an eye. so i’m determined to do everything i can to stay fit. for the past forty years, we’ve been told to cut calories and exercise more to lose weight. right?! wrong. while exercise is key to staying active our diet is the most important factor to aging well. if you want to lose belly fat over 50 there are a few things to consider. first, balance your macros. many of you might be wondering what macros are. they’re better known as carbohydrates, protein, and fat. we need all three in our diet. carbohydrates provide fuel, the energy for your body, and brain. it’s found in all plant foods, like grains, fruits, vegetables, and legumes, and also milk and yogurt. but i typically stay away from grains and get my carbs by eating fruit, veggies, and legumes. protein helps to build and repair your muscles, organs, skin, blood, and different chemicals, like hormones, in your body. it’s found in meat, poultry, fish, legumes, dairy, tofu, and eggs, and in smaller amounts in nuts, seeds, and whole grains. fat insulates and protects your bones and organs, acts as a backup fuel for energy, and helps in brain development.
healthy, unsaturated fats are found in olive oil, avocados, nuts, seeds, and fatty fish, like salmon, sardines, and mackerel. unhealthy saturated fats are found in high-fat beef, pork, butter, full-fat dairy, and processed foods, like cookies and donuts. these days i definitely stay away from processed foods as they are high in sugar. consuming too much sugar increases weight gain and leads to belly fat.
it’s not too late to lose weight fast with FASTer Way to Fat Loss. the final call for the June 1st round is today! if you want to learn how to lose weight fast and keep it off for good then you need to change your lifestyle. that’s where FASTer Way to Fat Loss comes in. this program will teach you how to balance your macros (fats, proteins, and carbs) because we need all three but in the proper proportions. this program also teaches you to lose weight fast the right way and keep it off. Faster Way to Fat Loss will transform your life with simple, effective, cutting edge and nutrition strategies. this is a lifestyle solution i discovered two years ago that changed how i think about eating. FWTFL taught me how to hone in on making smart food choices that burn fat, increases energy, and utilizes strategies that help keep my healthy lifestyle going strong long after my initial FWTFL round ended. now it’s time to turn up the heat and shed a few pounds that i gained before and after my total knee replacement.
diets don’t work, ladies. they never have. but learning about macronutrients will equip you to make proper food choices that emphasize the value of whole foods rather than processed foods. balancing macros also helps us to understand where our calories come from and what impact they have on the body. FASTer Way to Fat Loss helps us make good, informed food choices and it helps us lose weight fast.
ladies, i’ll check back in with my progress in a few weeks. for those of you who want to join me on the next round, FASTer Way to Fat Loss starts tomorrow June 1st. the FASTer Way is the most effective online program that will empower you to transform your life through simple, effective, cutting-edge fitness and nutrition strategies.

I’m starting tomorrow, too! It’s my first time. Nervous! But I’m looking forward to doing it together!
Beth, I joined Faster Way on May 4 and am amazed at how easy it is to follow. So different from other diets I’ve dine. I read about it on your blog and so appreciate you sharing the referral link. I also have a Peloton and am grateful to be able to work out at home now.
You are a wonderful advertisement for this program. The food looks so good and easy to make. I find I want to simplify my life now.
I began eating this way a year ago and have lost 70 lbs at age 62 and am currently 10 lbs below my original goal. I feel better than I have in years despite also needing knee surgery in April. I think giving up refined sugar is one of the best things I have ever done for myself!
I joined last year based upon your postings. I cannot tell you how great the program has been. I lost weight and eat more calories now than I did before I started the program. Not only that, I don’t spend as much time in the gym.
The daily work out videos are 30 to 40 minutes and are challenging.
The program is kept fresh with monthly challenges and the suggested menus are extremely helpful.
Fantastic find on your part!! Thank you for the recommendation.
Beth, Thank you for the encouragement and inspiration for losing weight and getting fit. It is a real challenge to do this after the age of 50.
One thing that helped me so much was when my doctor ran some tests, and discovered that I had a slow thyroid, (before age 50, my thyroid was normal).
He put me on prescription thyroid meds, and my excess weight (put on after the age of 50) melted off. But still, regular exercise and eating right…these are essential.
Beth, so glad for today’s topic. I am soon to be 61. I don’t do FWTFL but I do know and apply healthy eating principles and i work out and walk 10,000+ steps at least day 5 days a week. However, I still cannot seem to lose the final 10 lbs I put on during menopause. No matter what I do! Is it inevitable that “some” weight comes and “stays” after 50- or is it hormones or genetics, as I’ve read/heard? Anyone else relate? All input is helpful, ladies. Thank you!
You always look amazing!
$200? Is it really worth it? I’m 61,active,healthy but need to lose 20.
I breakfast at 7am. Does that require I eat my last meal around 4pm?
I’m sceptical
Don’t really enjoy having to use my phone for workouts, finding recipes..
I’m considering however.
Btw…good luck Beth.
Dear Georgia peach, I’m 64, very active, and thought I was eating healthy. I had about 10 stubborn pounds to remove. I joined Faster Way in February and what a difference! I, too, wondered if the cost was worth it but I will eat this way for the rest of my life! My biggest bonus was a skin disorder I’ve had 4 years on six of my fingers. At its worst, the itching and pain would wake me at night. Dermatologist meds did nothing; I tried elimination diets several times with no result. After 10 weeks on this program, my skin is healed and like a baby’s bottom! I’ve lost my excess inches; increased energy, muscle definition, better sleep, etc. I have sooooo many other positive results as well. It’s well worth the investment!
I am interested in joining the next round in July 2020. Please contact me with registration and cost details. Regards,
Twila McKay
Looking good, Beth. Hope you’re feeling better every day knee-wise. I still marvel every single day of my life at how the knee surgeries gave me my life back. It’s a tough road, but I was one of the fortunate ones, and I am so appreciative.
