with half of the country in a deep-freeze and the other half welcoming spring it’s always a dilemma this time of year for a style blogger. what to do? what to do? coats, sweaters, and denim? or sweaters, denim and sandals? as you can see i decided to haul out a pair of orange sandals and multi-colored handbag to brighten this dreary february day. notice the block heel. this is something we will be seeing more of this season and i couldn’t be happier. although a ballet flat and pointy-toed pumps (two of my go-to’s) will always stand the test of time. shoes are many times updated (or dated) by the style of the heel. but the block heel is a sturdy and attractive choice. the pair i have on for today’s ootd is just plain fun. sometimes, there’s nothing more spectacular than an uncomplicated outfit. and what could be more effortless than a sweater paired with light wash denim? in this case, it’s all about the color scheme and simple details like the metallic belt that tie-in with the gold studs on the sandals. toss on several layers of long necklaces, a gold cuff, and i’m good to go.

Pretty outfit! It would be a great transitional look…it will be 60 here in a couple days and it will be 80 in McKinney, which is where I will be.
i think you could pull this look off with both temps! have fun on your trip!

Thanks! Cold and gloomy here…looking forward to some warm sunshine and my granddaughter…xoxo
Thanks for this lovely combination of the sweater color and the denim. It feels like an instant injection of Spring and motivates me to trudge out in the snow to start a bit of shopping. Mmm…the power of color on a grey, overcast day!
oh february… you are the shortest/longest month of the year. it’s those gray skies and frigid temps. hope you’re surviving!
