wheels up, gang! mr. style and i are headed back to our old stomping grounds. cal-i -for-nia here we come. right back where we started from. at least the blog started there. our oldest son still lives in silicon valley. los gatos to be correct. and we’re paying a visit. catch me on Instastories for behind the scenes action.
but we’re bidding oscar and ollie adieu for five days. don’t worry, they have a special buddy taking good care of them while we’re away. and i’m finishing stripe week wearing an oldie but goodie for the trip – st. james. this long sleeve tee is the perfect weight to travel in. not too hot and not too cold. and it’s the perfect layer underneath a jean jacket. pair it with green jeans and espadrilles and i’m off and running. oh, did i forget to mention this cute tote?

Oscar wanna go with you for sure!! have a nice weekend.
oscar was pretty sad when he figured out he didn’t get to come along. but i think he’s having a good time with ollie and the sitter.

Safe travels Beth!
thanks so much, susan! i had to pack warm clothes and a coat. it’s been downright cold her in nocal.
xo
Have a great trip–I know that area well. The critters look like they know something’s going on. They’ll be so happy to see you return.
we are having a ball this weekend in chilly california. it’s always a good day when i get to be with family.

Have fun in California!! I was wondering about the sizing of the striped tee. It looks like it runs big, unless you sized up for this relaxed look.
hi janie! this st.james tee is a medium which is my regular size it’s just a boxy, oversized cut.

So the children have a house sitter. How fabulous, a far better arrangement than a pet motel or boarding kennels. Enjoy your break but I would bet that there will be lots of photography for us.
oscar and ollie are in good hands at home. it’s so much easier having a house/dog sitter come to you rather than hauling the pets to a kennel. we’re having a ball in beautiful but chilly nocal.

I visited Los Gatos years ago (25 or so?) and thought it was a delightful area. Enjoy and be safe!
thanks, patricia. we’re having a grand time with our son.

Ollie has really grown! It’s very cold here in Northern CA! Hope u have an extra coat!
thank goodness i brought a coat. it is definitely cold here in nocal, but i’m having a ball.

Hi Beth, happy times in your return to Cali!
I want to try those green jeans you are wearing in this post, but your link takes me to Jeans that are looking a very different color. It looks to be a much brighter green than what you are wearing. I like yours, not crazy about the ones I see on the Boden link. Are yours from a different season? Thanks for your help.
Jacquie, in the east Bay
the green jeans i’m wearing today are from the current Boden catalog. the photo looks like a vibrant shade of green but they aren’t as vivid in real life. they are a cross between olive and bright green. and i love the fit! you’ll be seeing more and more of Boden this spring.
xo
Thank you! I’m going to pull the trigger and get them. I like Boden quality, as I have a couple of their sweaters. Hope you are enjoying your NorCal visit!
Just want to say, I loved “stripe week” at Styleatacertainage! Going to get some spring stripes going! ;- )
you can never go wrong with stripes! they just work.

My husband recently had a job interview in California and we decided after visiting that Los Gatos was on the top of the list of places to live if we do decide to move.
isn’t los gatos a lovely town? very quaint and laid-back. good luck!
