if i owned a pair of ruby slippers i would click them three times and say, “there’s no place like home.” ‘cuz there isn’t. since my return to athens, i’ve eaten top notch cuisine at ihop, stocked up on groceries, scoured fresh flower bins, scattered bouquets throughout the house, and gone on a walk with my buddy oscar. nothing earth shattering on the list, but boy-oh-boy have i enjoyed every minute. especially my walk with oscar. it’s good to see that in the space of a week not one thing has changed in his world. there are still squirrels to chase, yards to patrol, and he’s always on the lookout for the perfect stick. ha! and he’s still annoyed when i take one away from him. there’s something to be said about a stable and steadfast dog. the simple things in life are always the best!
oscar and i wish each of you a lovely weekend.

Love the pop of orange with the blue–great complementary colors. I can so relate–“home is definitely best.” Have a great weekend–really makes you appreciate the comforts of home to be on the road for a while.
i don’t know why but i am loving orange and blue this year, sue! we’re even thinking about incorporating that color scheme into our home. stay tuned!

Love that last photo of Oscar looking to chase his stick! I agree that where ever it is, there is no place like home. It is our sanctuary and we should always treat it well and keep it attractive and inviting.
home is our sanctuary and one reason i’m such a homebody! and it might be hard to believe, but i love home design/decorating even more than putting outfits together.

On my way to the Talbots trunk show here in Novi, Michigan and then to lunch with my friend who is also going to the trunk show. You have to love the 30% off! Talbots is less than a mile from my home and it’s such a great store! Your list of what you did since arriving home made me smile. Classy but comfortable outfit to spend time with your best buddy.
so what did you find at the trunk show? it’s always dangerous for met to bop into talbots since i could come back out with almost everything in the store.

I love all of your blog posts, but I have to say, I really look forward to Friday’s with Oscar posts! He is such a beautiful dog and there is something so majestic about German Shepherds. Growing up, we had a German Shepherd named Fritz and he was a stunner (and waaaay too smart for his own good!). He loved car rides with my Dad, and Fritz would sit in the back seat on the passenger side and, quite honestly, it looked like he was a gentlemen being driven by his chauffeur. Dad would take him on daily walks past the local shops and years after Fritz was gone, people would ask where Fritz was. So glad you include Oscar on your blog!
there’s something special about german shepherds. oscar is our first gsd and i am so impressed with their demeanor. and yes, they are waaayyy too smart for their own good. oscar never ceases to amaze me.

Love the last picture of Oscar as he is ready for action! Cute outfit for walking Oscar…love the skirt. I have been seeing your lovely face on several other blogs. It looks like all you gals had a blast in Dallas. My oldest daughter and her family live in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
dallas has the craziest weather, donna! 90 degrees on the first day and 50 degrees on the last. but i had a ball in the lone star state.
