when the temps dip down it’s always a good idea to have a coat on hand that not only keeps you warm, but looking stylish. outerwear in a pretty pastel is the perfect solution to pair with tried-and-true staples like denim and turtlenecks that take us through the winter season. in the not-so-distant past, pastels were typically reserved for spring and summer, much like white denim. nowadays, these springtime shades are regularly incorporated into the wintery mix, and i’m loving it. if by chance you hadn’t heard pantone has chosen two colors – rose quartz and serenity – as the color of the year 2016. which means pastels are picking up a healthy head of steam and will continue to remain strong for some time. i’ve been lucky enough to have worn my pink boucle coat for over 10 years. i never tire of it as it’s the perfect weight for a day of knocking about town, running in-an-out of stores. so if you’re contemplating ways to incorporate pastels into your wardrobe why not start with outerwear? think pink – it’s chic, and timeless, and according to pantone quite on-trend.

I think what’s particularly interesting, Beth, is how your coat of armour is pink 🙂 traditionally the epitome of all things feminine and girly, one would not typically associate the colour with anything remotely close to strength, endurance and longevity. I like that that’s how I see your coat xoxo
that’s what’s best about being a woman. even though we are strong we don’t have to compromise our femininity! not even for a minute.
