Happy Monday, ladies! I am so excited to introduce my DIL, Chelsea, to the blog! If you’re not familiar with Chelsea, she joined the Djalali lineup on NYE 2023! It was a great way to kick off the new year. Since then, Chelsea, Kelly, and I started a podcast, Message from Mom, and have a weekly Style at Every Age roundup on Instagram.
As if that weren’t enough, Chelsea will now have a monthly blog post to share the musings of a 30-something. I know many of us have daughters and granddaughters this age, and I’m always interested in hearing Chelsea’s thoughts on fashion and life from a millennial perspective. One thing we have in common is working out and being active. While we each tackle that in different ways, we all still need activewear. So today, Chelsea and I are sharing the activewear we found at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

Both Chelsea and I love working out, so what better way to collaborate on a blog post than by sharing our Activewear finds from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? Honestly, Nordstrom carries all of my favorite workout brands from Zella to Sweaty Betty to Nike and Beyond Yoga. This year, Nordstrom added TravisMatthew, and I like what I see.
Many of you ask what my workout schedule looks like each week. So here goes – Pilates 4x a week, and I head to Orange Theory 1 or 2x per week. Recently, I added a ten to fifteen-minute arms, chest, and back workout after Pilates class, as you can never have enough strength training classes, especially as we age.

Beyond Yoga is hands down my favorite workout brand for Pilates class, so I couldn’t resist this Royal Blue cropped top and matching high-waist leggings. I love bringing a cardigan or sweatshirt to my workout in case I need to run an errand or two after class. I know, I know, this Varley cardigan sold out lickety-split, so take a look at these workout sweatshirts here and here.
When I head to strength training class at Orange Theory, my workout outfit is completely different from a Pilates class. Nike is an excellent brand for shoes, running shorts, and racerback tops, so I was happy to spy this matching set that’s perfect for an OT day!

Chelsea’s activewear finds
This is my second year joining Beth and Kelly at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and this is my very first blog post! It is always great to spend time with family, but family and shopping cannot be beat!
The selection in-store this year was a little smaller than last year’s selection, but the activewear did not disappoint. I come from a ballet background and still teach Pure Barre (Pilates) weekly, so when I spot a cute workout set, I have to have it! This royal blue Cropped Tank and High-Waist Legging set from Beyond Yoga is the perfect attire for a Pilates class or for running errands around town. Incorporating a sweater or a pullover would transition this set into fall seamlessly. The fabric of Beyond Yoga is always so soft and comfortable, which is a must when you are dying in your workout class, am I right?! And the cute details of the back of this crop top and the V-front details of the leggings take this set to the next level.

I recently started learning golf this past year, mainly to hang out with my husband who loves it. But ladies, if we are being real, half the fun of golf is the attire. This black Spanx dress would be perfect for golf, tennis, pickleball, travel, or even running around town! It really sucks you in in all the right places but is still very breathable, and the best part is the shorts inside the dress pull down, so when you need to make a trip to the restroom, you do not have to fully undress. Win-win if you ask me!

I have been looking for the perfect travel set recently, and when I saw this Spanx AirEssentials Crewneck Sweatshirt and Matching Shorts set at the sale, I knew it was coming home with me. I loved it so much I even snagged a set for my mom. The fabric of this set is so soft yet chic. I don’t know about you, but when I travel, I must be comfortable. However, the struggle of finding a stylish and comfortable outfit is real. Thank you. I am looking for the elusive sports bra that is comfortable (meaning I can get in and out without gymnastics) and doesn’t cut in under the girls. I wear workout clothes every day as I exercise daily. If we are not going out, I stay in them (gardening, cooking, cleaning). I am a 36C so I need some support, but I am not a runner so I don’t need super support. Any ideas? I had one on my wish list, but it sold out before I could order. Still hoping it comes back and is what I am looking for. Thank you.

Hi ladies! I am so enjoying your “Dressing Room Diaries” and can see how much fun you had at on your Anniversary Sale excursion. I was completely underwhelmed by this year’s sale, unfortunately. I only ended up with a bra and a pair of joggers—no excitement there-LOL! I enjoyed quite a few beauty items from last year’s sale, none of which made an appearance this year. Was disappointed. The best part was reading your posts!
