anyone else glued to the tube watching the Olympics? the games always remind me of my mother who loved the Winter Olympics especially ice skating. peggy fleming was by far her favorite female figure skater. i snagged her autograph years ago when the U.S. finals were held in Omaha. last night i learned a fun fact about skaters. when they land a triple loop or salchow, there are 550 pounds of pressure placed on their landing foot. not feet mind you as they land on one foot. can you imagine the foot injuries they endure? and the same goes for us. well, we might not endure the same stress or strain from landing jump after jump on an ice rink. but when we reach a certain age our tootsies have logged in a good many miles throughout the years. and they just might appreciate wearing a pair of comfortable shoes.

that’s where Adrian Allen shoes come in. several months ago the founder of Adrian Allen, gwen allen, stopped by for an interview for the Over | Under series. if you missed that Q&A you can read it here. it’s always a privilege to introduce female entrepreneurs to all of my lovely readers. several years ago, gwen went on a mission to create a comfortable and stylish shoe with a low heel. no easy feat. today, i’m wearing the Stella in tan nubuck that’s styled with sophisticated comfort.

one thing to note when wearing a pair of Adrian Allen shoes. you might not want to take them off. yes, they are that comfortable. this pair of Stella’s can log in a long day with ease. some days we are on the move, ladies, and need a shoe that won’t let us down when it comes to comfort. but i also want my shoe to look stylishly elegant. is it too much to ask for a sophisticated wearable option? thank goodness Adrian Allen shoe company was up to the task to help women look and feel their best. take a peek at this blog post when i slipped into a pair of peek-toe-pumps by the name of Sara.

Thanks for posting this, Beth! I love clothes (and you know I love your style) but I struggle with footwear. I have “problem feet,” which get worse with age, but I refuse to clog around in frumpy shoes. I’m also a hip replacement patient who’s been told to avoid wearing heels more than 2 and 1/2″ unless for a special occasion. So I do appreciate your sharing these beautiful Adrian Allen shoes, and I will be visiting the web site this morning!

Nice post about shoes but I am guessing the average person can’t afford these shoes. The ones you are wearing are beautiful but very expensive at $295.

everybody has a price point and budget they are comfortable with. quality products typically come with a higher price tag. years ago, my father taught me how to pro-rate and insisted i apply this technique to any and all purchases. when i faithfully listen to his sage advice it opens my eyes to the true value of ay given item.

I absolutely agree with you on value. No question about that, but I wish someone could make a shoe somewhat less expensive! Even those of us who cannot spend a large amount on an item of quality, still wish there was something in our price range that could also be comfortable. No criticism meant!

no criticism taken. but quality and price typically go hand in hand.

I wish they designed shoes that accommodated orthotics. They do have some lovely styles and no doubt they’re comfortable. I hate most of the styles that specifically accommodate orthotics … so if the Adrian Allen executives are following our comments I hope they see this. Lovely look Beth!

The shoes are very lovely! And they do look comfy. This is a good long, lean look. Keeps the long line to match the shoes to it all. Thanks for the introduction to Adrian Allen.
