The new year brings a fresh start, and for me, that always means a bit of organization and self-care. This month, Kelly and I have rounded up our favorite Amazon finds that are perfect for tackling those New Year’s goals—whether it’s getting your kitchen and closet in order, or keeping your skin glowing through the winter chill.
Kitchen Organization Bliss
First up, we all know how chaotic kitchens can get, especially after the holidays. To start the year off right, I picked up a few organizational essentials at Amazon that have truly made a difference. These clear, stackable pantry bins are a game-changer for keeping everything from cereal to snacks tidy and easily accessible. Plus, these adjustable drawer dividers are a must-have for kitchen drawers—no more digging around for utensils! Food storage containers are a lifesaver for leftovers, reducing clutter and eliminating the need for mismatched plastic wrap. A few simple items can transform your kitchen and make you an organization queen!

Closet Organization For The Win
Organization has never been so easy! When it comes to organizing your closet, simplicity is key and Amazon has you covered with simple organizational solutions. I love these sleek velvet hangers, which have transformed my closet. They save so much space and keep everything from slipping off. For those winter accessories, these fabric clear-front boxes have been perfect for holding scarves, hats, and mittens neatly. If you’re looking to really streamline your closet, these under-bed storage bags are perfect for off-season clothes—hello, more space!

Skincare for Winter Dryness
As much as I love winter’s cozy vibe, my skin does not share the same enthusiasm. The dry air can be brutal, especially this year, but I’ve found a few skincare heroes on Amazon that are helping me stay hydrated and glowing all season long. This CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser is gentle enough for daily use and doesn’t strip my skin. I’ve also been loving this Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel—it’s lightweight but packs a serious moisture punch. For a little extra hydration, I use this Aquaphor Healing Ointment on my elbows, cuticles, and lips. It’s a total lifesaver when the weather gets really harsh.

Hi Beth! I really like your blog and have gotten great ideas from your posts. But I am stumped: Who is Kelly? Your daughter? Daughter-in-law? Niece? Other? What differentiates Kelly’s role from yours? She’s cute and clearly younger! What “certain age” is Kelly addressing? Sorry, I couldn’t find answers in your About. Thanks for clearing up my muddled mind. — Barbara in Dallas
Hi Barbara! Allow me to introduce myself, I am Kelly, Beth’s daughter-in-law; I am married to her oldest son, Alex. Several years ago, I started a feature on Style at a Certain Age called Kelly’s Kitchen to share recipes. Then, a few years ago I started sharing outfit inspiration, specifically for petites. My “certain age” is 48, so technically I represent the 40s demographic, but we believe that style and fashion has no specific age, only specific sizes. I hope that clarifies! Take care, xo Kelly
Hi Barbara!
It’s great to hear from you. I’m guessing you are a new reader – welcome! Kelly is my daughter-in-law and shares her 40something and petite perspective each Thursday and has since 2022. I hope you have a chance to read her posts. I love how we balance each other out: I share my experiences with fashion and lifestyle for women navigating their “certain age,” and Kelly brings her unique perspective to the blog as someone younger but still interested in timeless style. We aim to empower women at different stages of life to feel stylish, confident, and beautiful. Kelly also contributes recipes and cocktails each and every Friday with our popular Fridays with Oscar series that kicks off the weekend with a casual outfit, Oscar and glimpses of my cat Ollie.
Style at a Certain Age also has a beauty editor, Jennifer Duvall, who contributes a weekly Saturday post that share beauty tips for women over 40. Check it out!
But to answer your question on who the blog is written for it is simple: Primarily women aged 40 and older, but content may also resonate with those in their 30s seeking timeless style inspiration or lifestyle guidance as they age. Women of a “certain age” are daughters, mothers, mother-in-laws, grandmothers and friends. And I’d like to think each and every age group is not only welcome here but will find value from Style at a Certain Age.
Hope this helps your muddled mind.
