Happy Friday, ladies! And it’s the very last Friday in July. Where does the time disappear to? The dog days of summer are upon us. I don’t know about you, but August is one of the most challenging months to pick an outfit for yours truly. The retailers are transitioning to fall clothes While I’m not ready to exchange my linen shirts and shorts for cashmere this time of year the bloom of summer is fading. The temps typically soar past ninety day after day and my fashion fuel tank is running on empty. So what’s my solution to my style dilemma? Easy outfits that I can throw together and not think twice about. Like a one-and-done dress or a matching set. Same goes with our cocktails and recipes. We’re thinking light and easy. No fuss and no muss. So get ready to kick off the weekend with Easy Breezy Summer Outfits, a Bourbon Peach Smash and a yummy tuna salad. Don’t forget to say hi to Oscar, he’s joining in on the fun per usual
TL;DR
Today’s outfits are as easy as one-and-done

Easy Breezy Summer Outfits
Beth’s Outfit: Monochromatic White
June was absolutely glorious weather-wise but once the calendar rolled over to July it’s been one scorcher after another. Whenever the temps soar I tend to reach for neutrals and what’s better than a monochromatic outfit in white with accents of brown.

Brown and white is a simple yet chic color combo that never steers us wrong. I opted for a white tank top from Lands’ End and white denim from Ann Taylor. Add a brown leather belt (old similar here and here) and brown leather sandals and this outfit is in the books. Didn’t I say the dog days of summer call for easy outfits?

Kelly’s Outfit: Tulip Hem Skirt
I was excited to wear the Open Edit Ruched Tulip Hem Skirt I purchased at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I loved it when I tried it on, which made it an easy purchase. It’s incredibly comfortable and easy to wear. Plus, I know it will be on repeat all summer and fall.
Because of the ruching on the skirt, I wanted to wear a top that didn’t require tucking and that wouldn’t interfere with the skirt, so I went with a cropped tank. Since I am short, the regular-sized crop version actually hits at my natural waist, rather than above. This tank is from last year, but I found a similar version.

Bourbon Peach Smash
This summery bourbon smash features summer’s favorite stone fruit, the peach. The original recipe calls for homemade peach syrup, made from fresh summer peaches. But, you can do what did and make it even simpler by using canned peaches and their syrup.
Pepperoncini Tuna Salad
This is one of those great non-recipe recipes. It’s exactly like putting together a cheese plate or charcuterie board. Layers of peach, tomato, prosciutto, coppa, burrata cheese and fresh herbs are topped with olive oil, flaky finishing salt and black pepper.

Hello, you girls look cool and comfy. I really like the grounds where you have taken the pictures. The tuna sounds delicious…….I will try it. The sesame seed oil sounds like a great addition. Hi to handsome Oscar and cat too! Have a cool weekend. We have a heat warning today in NE Ohio.
Thanks, Rory! You will love the tuna salad. Perfect for a hot summer day!
Love the outfits. Pictures are great. Of course Oscar is the star. Have a great weekend, thank you for sharing. Kate
Hi Kate! Yes, Oscar is our Friday star. Happy weekend!
Love Oscar’s smile in the first picture! Loves the outdoors, you can tell. You both look fresh and cool, something we all need to mimic in these extreme temp days. Bet 95ยฐ will feel cool after weeks of 100-plus weather! Grateful we have both of you to guide us through August. Happy Weekend! ๐ฅฐ
He loves to be outside and especially loves to sit on his hill and purvey his land. Happy weekend, Sylvia!
Happy Friday, Beth and Kelly!
Love your white and brown concept, Beth!
HI to our favorite dog-guy, Oscar!
Happy Friday, Carolina Girl!
Good morning! Can you tell me about the Landโs End tanks? Iโm always looking for a quality tank. I read the reviews and one thing that caught my eye was that it lost its shape. No spandex. Did find that? And how is the quality?
I also cannot believe how fast time goes. And summer almost gone. Trying to soak up every last minute!
Good morning! Yes, the Lands’ End tanks are a one season wonder as they do lose their shape. After a washing it springs back but for the price I’m a fan as the straps aren’t as deep as other tanks.
Beth, I love your outfit and agree 100% that white and cognac brown look smashing together. Do you have any advice for us apple-shaped gals? Belts terrify me! I feel as if they draw attention to the very area that I don’t want attention paid!
I totally get it! Apple shapes like to steer clear of belts, but I would encourage you to wear one with a dress. Place it underneath your bust which is the narrowest part of your frame. For this outfit skip the belt and do a side tuck with the tee.
Hi Girls!!
Happy Friday with handsome Oscar!
Hello from the HOT, STEAMY, HUMID low country in SC. I am counting the days until the end of September, when we can enjoy cooler weather….with maybe a breeze or two on the porch. I love your and Kelly’s easy, breezy outfits! We ladies in the South at some point say….just give me easy as we transition out of our summer! I love how you two work together. Adorable. And Kelly, thank you for the tuna salad recipe. I have never made it this way and I LOVE pepperoncini! I cannot wait to try it. And I may have to hide it! lol You need to come over to the low country for a visit and we can sit on the porch with our fans and drink your cocktails!! Happy Weekend ahead and puppy licks from my 2 to Oscar.
Love your emails!
Happy Friday, Debbie! You will love this tuna salad!
