Happy Friday, ladies! Can you believe we’re bidding adieu to May? It truly is one of the most glorious months, with spring in full bloom. My roses have already bloomed, then my gardenias and hydrangeas. Now it’s onto summer! Today we have summer outfits and summer recipes, Kelly stopped by and whipped up a yummy appetizer you can bring to your next BBQ and a new-to-me cocktail, Corona Sunrise.

The weather has been glorious the past few weeks, so I’m eeking out every last minute of jean season before it’s full speed ahead with shorts and linen pants. Stay tuned to Sunday’s post, where we share Summer Denim Trends. Today, I slipped into a pair of wide-leg denim with a hint of stretch. Paired with the white linen shirt, it creates a monochromatic outfit that’s perfect for any summer day.

I have my Denim Skort back in action today, it’s such a perfect go-to for casual summer outfits. The print of my Dolman Top from Banana Republic Factory is from last year, but the style is available this year in new colors and prints. The Mena Slide Sandal is another go-to for me this summer; this sandal style is so comfortable and goes with everything!

The Corona Sunrise is a very summery beer cocktail that goes perfectly with a hot day and a bowl of queso and tortilla chips.
Makes 1 cocktail
1 Bottle of Corona
1.5 oz. Tequila
1.5 oz. Orange Juice
1/2 oz. Grenadine
Pour out (or drink!) some of the Corona so the beer is just above the label. Use a funnel to slowly pour in the tequila, orange juice, and grenadine. Garnish with a lime wedge.
This queso recipe is one of our favorites for parties because it's so easy to make and it is always a hit with friends and family. The addition of chorizo is optional, but it really adds a flavor boost to the queso.
1/2 lb. Chorizo Sausage
1 lb. Velveeta Queso Blanco
1/4 cup Whole Milk
2-6 tbsp. Light Beer, such as Miller Lite, to taste
2-6 tbsp. Pickled Jalapeño Juice, to taste
Toppings: Pickled Onions, Fresh Jalapeños
Cook the Chorizo Sausage, breaking it up as it cooks, until browned. Set aside.
Melt Velveeta with milk over medium-low heat.
Stir in 2 tablespoons of beer and pickled jalapeño juice at a time, taste between additions.
Add more beer and pickled jalapeño juice, 2 tablespoons at a time until it suits your taste. Stir until blended and creamy.
Pour the queso in a serving bowl and add the cooked chorizo in the center of the queso.
Top with pickled onion and fresh jalapeño.
Serve with tortilla chips.

My Peony, that are my favorite with Hydrangeas a close second are in full bloom, and I cut a bouquet of them for my Dining Room table. They are beautiful and smell so lovely. Love Kelly’s top and your all-white outfit.
Peonies are a great choice! I had an abundance of peonies when I lived in Minnesota ants and all!
