Happy Friday, ladies! The weather has been rocking and rolling here in Georgia, with severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings issued. Oscar’s not so keen on stormy weather, but Ollie doesn’t seem to mind. Me? Give me a rainy day and a good book any day of the week. A cloudy, stormy day just naturally slows our pace down, and I never feel guilty about being lazy all day long. All that changes when the sun is shining. Something about a sunny day makes me want to go, go, go and I bet you feel the same way. So, Today, we are celebrating spring greens with our outfits and on our plates!
Years ago, when I lived on an island, the weather was the same day in and day out. Hot, sunny, and blue skies all day, every day. That was when I longed for a rainy day. I missed rainy days and the opportunity to slow down. There’s nothing better than listening to the sound of raindrops. It’s soothing and calming, lowers our stress hormones, reduces anxiety, and creates an environment conducive to quality sleep. It’s not just your imagination that rainy days make you drowsy.

Whenever it’s a rainy day, I love to add a pop of color to my wardrobe. While my wardrobe is built on neutrals, there’s nothing better than bold colors to brighten my mood. Today, I slipped into these green wide-leg pants from Talbots, last seen here, and an ivory mock neck turtleneck (old, similar here, here, and here). Since the weather has flirted with summer-like temps it’s time for a pedicure and cute sandals.

This Sweet Cherry Italian Margarita is great because you can use fresh cherries or frozen. It's a great spring fruit cocktail. It's absolutely delicious and the color is so vibrant – it goes great with our spring greens!
Makes 2 Cocktails
10 Pitted Cherries (fresh or frozen, thawed), plus more for garnish
1 oz. Agave
1 1/2 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
3 oz. Tequila Blanco or Mezcal
2 oz. Amaretto
Muddle the cherries, lime juice, and agave in a cocktail shaker. Add tequila, amaretto, and ice. Shake until very cold. Strain into ice-filled rocks glasses, garnish with cherries.
These Deviled Egg Salad and Asparagus Tartines are super simple to put together and they look so beautiful! You can make all of it ahead of time and assemble them when you're ready to serve. They're a great way to eat your spring greens!
6 Eggs, hard cooked
1 1/2 tsp. Chives, plus more for garnish
1 1/2 tsp. Fresh Dill, plus more for garnish
2 Scallions, sliced
1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
2 tsp. Dill pickle brine or fresh lemon juice
1 tsp. Hot sauce
3 tbsp. Mayonnaise
1/4 tsp. Black pepper
1/2 tsp. Kosher salt
1 lb Thin Asparagus, ends trimmed and sliced on the bias
Baguette, sliced thinly on the bias
Olive Oil
Flaky Sea Salt
In a large bowl, use a pastry blender to chop the hard-cooked eggs into tiny chunks. Add the chives, dill, scallion slices, Dijon, pickle brine, hot sauce and mayonnaise. Stir to combine. Taste and add kosher salt and black pepper to taste. Set egg salad aside.
Get a pot of water set to boiling, blanch the asparagus in the boiling water for about 1-2 minutes, just until the asparagus turns a brighter shade of green and firm/tender. Transfer the asparagus to an ice bath to stop the cooking and retain the bright green color.
Place the baguette slices on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil and toast under the broiler until golden.
Drain the asparagus from the ice bath. Spoon about 1-2 tablespoons of the egg salad on each toasted baguette slice and top with 2-3 spears of blanched asparagus. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt, finely chopped chives and dill fronds.

Good morning Beth, Kelly, Oscar, and Ollie. Hope you all have a beautiful Spring weekend. It is going to be gorgeous here in Minnesota the next 3 days. Just in time for Mother’s Day and some flower and vegetable planting. I like green but I only have a couple items in green Bought the pretty green linen blazer from Talbots a few weeks ago, so will have to get that out and wear it for my green.
