it’s friday, gang! can you believe another week has come and gone? the first week of the month is in the books. mr. style and i decided to kick back on our porch with cocktails in hand enjoying our critters. let me tell you first hand there is something magical about a screened porch. it lets you observe nature snuggled on your comfy couch afghan loosely tossed over your legs. or how about watching the sun sink into the horizon as you dine al fresco?
i’d guess you’d say we’re proper southerners now porch and all. come april you’ll find me sweeping, dusting, plumping pillows, importing plants, and arranging flowers to spruce up this corner of our world. the porch is where you’ll find us on those sultry days that last all summer long here in georgia. while we wait for things to heat up around here, i’m happy to throw on a cardigan to keep the chill at bay and slip into a pair of boyfriend jeans. ‘cuz it’s friday y’all, the sun is shining, and life is good.

Love the look Oscar is giving Ollie. Happy weekend!
these two are such a hoot! never a dull moment in our house.

Your porch looks great. I agree that a screened-in porch is fabulous–especially in the south, where you truly can use it almost all seasons of the year. One of our family members has an outdoor screened-in porch that has screening beneath the floorboards, too, which I loved! Virtually no bugs can get in, but the air still circulates. (Maybe that’s always been a thing, but it was new to me!) Oscar and Ollie seem happy to be out there, too. Have a great weekend–my sisters are coming to visit and I’m ready for the weekend to start!
we definitely need to look into adding a screen underneath the floor. i’ve read that’s a ‘must-have’ feature for your porch.

I am so jealous of your porch, Beth!! What a delightful way to welcome in the weekend – can’t believe it has come around again (and so quickly). Ollie is gorgeous (love the hairs sticking out of the tops of her ears). Oscar looks like a happy big brother (I love the photos of the 2 together). I hope you and Mr. Style enjoy your cocktails and have a great weekend.
the weekend started off well then took a nosedive. at least temperature-wise. but it was the weekend all the same. i hope you enjoyed yours as well.
isn’t ollie gorgeous? mischieveous, but gorgeous. oscar’s full time job is keeping her out of trouble. xo
Great relaxed look. Love that porch too. Have always wanted one.
there is nothing quite like a summer spent on a porch! loved them as a child. love them just as much today. xo
